The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Durant, Oklahoma
Durant () is a city in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States that serves as the headquarters of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. The population was 18,589 in the 2020 census. Durant is the principal city of the Durant Micropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 46,067 in 2020. The city is the largest in the Choctaw Nation, ranking ahead of McAlester and Poteau. Durant is also part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Combined Statistical Area, anchoring the northern edge. Oklahoma State Highway 199
State Highway 199, also known as SH-199 or, is a highway in southern Oklahoma. The highway connects Ardmore to Madill as a more northerly alternate to US-70, much of which SH-199 is an old alignment of. It provides access to the Fort Washita Historic Site. Route description The highway's western beginning is at SH-142 in Ardmore. This intersection is also the eastern terminus of SH-142. After leaving Ardmore, the highway continues along a due east course that takes it through the unincorporated places of Dripping Springs and Caldwell Hill. At Dickson it becomes concurrent with US-177. Shortly after this junction, the two highways cross into Johnston County, where they pass through the town of Mannsville. The United States census of 2020 was the twenty-fourth decennial United States census. Census Day, the reference day used for the census, was April 1, 2020.
