Lithuania In The Eurovision Song Contest 2012
Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Lithuanian entry was selected through a national selection, organised by the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT. Donny Montell represented Lithuania with the song "Love Is Blind", which qualified from the second semi-final and went on to place 14th in the final, scoring 70 points. Before Eurovision Participation On 11 September 2011, LRT confirmed Lithuania's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan, although the broadcaster struggled with financial problems. Additionally, the Lithuanian head of Delegation, Audrius Girzadas, has not excluded the possibility of selecting next year's national representative in Eurovision internally, given the financial difficulties LRT is going through. Donatas Montvydas (born 22 October 1987), better known by his stage name Donny Montell, is a Lithuanian singer-songwriter who represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Amberlife
Amberlife (born Edgaras Lubys on 17 August 1983 in Klaipėda) is a popular Lithuanian musician and songwriter. He collaborated with the well-known Lithuanian production company Cactus which led to an international career. He released three albums and was known in Latvia, Russia and Scandinavia. A limited edition CD (3,000 copies), ''In Your Eyes'', was released in January 2004 with all of the songs from Amberlife's first album plus four versions of "In Your Eyes". A video for "In Your Eyes" was filmed in Stockholm where he was photographed by Bingo Rimer, who has worked with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, Backstreet Boys and others. Lithuania In The Eurovision Song Contest
Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest (known in Lithuania as ''Eurovizijos dainų konkursas'') 22 times since its debut in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". Lithuania withdrew from the contest, not returning until 1999. LT United's sixth place in with the song "We Are the Winners" is Lithuania's best result in the contest. Linas and Simona was a duo, which represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. With 26 points they placed 16th in the semifinal and could not participate in the final. However, they befriended Ruslana, the winner of the Eurovision 2004, and together recorded ''Fight for Love and Freedom''. This song was released in album ''I Love U'' on 22 July 2005. Bobby Ljunggren (born 1961) is a Swedish songwriter. He has entered the Eurovision Song Contest as a composer six times, five times for his native Sweden (1995, 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010), and once for Lithuania, in 2005. Violeta "Sati" Mackevičiūtė (born April 11, 1976 in Klaipėda) is a Lithuanian singer, a member of band Agama. Biography Sati was born in a family of a lawyer and a journalist in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Her teacher was one of the notable Lithuanian opera singers Onutė Glinskaitė – her influence was significant for then young singer, and is noticeable in Sati's pop music career. Monika Linkytė (born 3 June 1992) is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter. She represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Vaidas Baumila with the song " This Time", placing 18th.
