Doom metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other heavy metal genres.K. Crescent is a blackened death metal band from Egypt, founded in 1998. Crescent formed in 1998 as a black metal band, making it one of the oldest extreme metal bands in Egypt and the region. It was the first to perform at Wacken Open Air and many other festivals and countries. Crescent headlined numerous gigs and concerts in their homeland – Egypt, such as in El Sawy Culture Wheel, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Swiss Club, Azhar Park and many other small venues. Betraying the Martyrs are a French metalcore band formed in Paris in 2008. The band currently consists of vocalist Rui Martins, guitarists Steeves Hostin and Baptiste Vigier, bassist Valentin Hauser, drummer Boris le Gal, and keyboardist Victor Guillet. They are currently signed to Out of Line Music. Through their previous label, Sumerian Records, Betraying the Martyrs have released four studio albums: '' Breathe in Life'' (2011), ''Phantom'' (2014), '' The Resilient'' (2017), and ''Rapture'' (2019). Armageddon (Swedish Band)
Armageddon is a Swedish melodic death metal band, led by Christopher Amott of Arch Enemy. Biography Formed in Halmstad, Sweden, in 1997 by Christopher Amott, Armageddon began when Arch Enemy were invited to Japan to sign a new record deal with Toy's Factory records after the release of the '' Black Earth'' album. While in Japan, Christopher secured his own record deal for a solo project, which became Armageddon. When he returned to Sweden, he recruited drummer Peter Wildoer (Darkane, Majestic), bassist Martin Bengtsson, and vocalist Jonas Nyrén (In Thy Dreams). Angtoria
Angtoria was a symphonic metal band composed of British singer Sarah Jezebel Deva and Swedish brothers Chris and Tommy Rehn. Singer Sarah Jezebel Deva joined with the brothers in 2001 to create the band. Their debut album, '' God Has a Plan for Us All'', was released in April 2006. The name Angtoria derives its origin from the title of a song by the band Moahni Moahna where Tommy was a member between 1992–1997. History The band started with a friendship forged between Sarah and Chris when they were touring in 2001 with Therion and Evergrey. They went on to produce a four-track film soundtrack-like CD in 2002 which was an unofficial demo only for record companies. The band won a competition at gothmetal.net in May 2005, for which their prize was inclusion on a compilation CD. In late 2005, after 99% of the album was written, Tommy Rehn joined the band. Ancient (band)
Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. The band released six full-length albums released by Metal Blade Records to date and a variety of mini-albums, EPs and special releases. Ancient used to have the classic raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with '' The Cainian Chronicle'', they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor and a cleaner production. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic-style instruments such as violins, a female vocalist, and synthesizers to their music. To this day Ancient can be considered one of the original Norwegian black metal bands that were part of the now famous scene of the early nineties. Amaran
Amaran was a Swedish metal band. Their music can be described to have heavy metal guitars combined with the clear voice of singer Johanna DePierre. History Formation Amaran started out as a band in the spring of 2000, in Stockholm, Sweden, and then developed a dynamic and original way of writing songs, combining heavy metal guitars with clear female vocals. Adagio is a French progressive metal band formed in 2000 by guitarist Stéphan Forté. History Since their third studio album '' Dominate,'' Adagio has evolved from their original power metal sound, but still adhering to their trademark elements of virtuosity and massive orchestral influences. With ''Dominate,'' they implemented a heavier sound with traditional death grunts. '' Archangels in Black'' was the band's fourth album. Abhorrence
Abhorrence is a Finnish death metal band originally formed in 1989. History Abhorrence was formed in early 1989 by guitarists Tomi Koivusaari (of Violent Solution and Amorphis) and Kalle Mattsson, vocalist Jukka Kolehmainen and bassist Jussi Ahlroth (latter three whom had played together in a band called ''Disaster''), as well as drummer Kimmo Heikkinen. For some time they played under several different names until settling on Abhorrence, playing dozens of concerts alongside bands like Xysma, Disgrace and Funebre. After recording and releasing one demo tape, titled ''Vulgar Necrolatry'', they released a 7" EP on Seraphic Decay Records. Without a written contract of any kind, the band lost all of the master tapes and possible future revenues. After several more gigs around Finland, a short visit to Norway (one gig and a party/sleepover at black metal band Mayhem's house) with their second drummer Mika Arnkil (on leave from Antidote), the band broke up in 1990.
