List Of World Table Football Champions
This article is a list of male, female and national teams world champions in foosball. The International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF) has held a World Championships annually or bi-annually, with the winning players and teams recognised as the best international multi-table players and teams of that period. World Series events are held for ITSF-recognised tables (Leonhart, Garlando, Bonzini, Roberto Sport and Tornado), usually annually. In the United States, the World Championships are held on the Tornado table, with previous events having been organised on the Dynamo and Tournament Soccer tables. Foosball
Table football, also known as foosball, table soccer, futbolito in Mexico, Taca Taca in Chile and Metegol in Argentina is a table-top game that is loosely based on association football. The aim of the game is to move the ball into the opponent's goal by manipulating rods which have figures attached. Although rules often vary by country and region when the game is played casually, at the competitive level table soccer is played according to a unified code. History Patents for similar table games date back as early as the 1890s in Spain, Europe. However, foosball's origins go back to 1921, when Harold Searles Thornton from the United Kingdom patented the game as "Apparatus for playing a game of table football". Thornton invented a football game that people could play in their homes due to the popularity of association football in Europe. Todd Loffredo
Todd Loffredo is an American veteran professional Table football player. He is a multiple World Champion and often partners with Frédéric Collignon in Doubles. He started his career as a forward but plays both goalie and forward in doubles. Frédéric Collignon considers him the best table football player in the world. In 2005 he was inducted to the Table Soccer Hall of Fame. He is featured in two documentaries about table soccer: Foosball: past - present - future from 2016 and Foosballers from 2019.
