This is a list of villages in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. Malappuram district is divided into 138 villages, which combine to form 7 Taluks, which again combine to form 2 revenue divisions. Tirur Revenue Division Tirur Revenue Division is one of the two revenue divisions that form the district. It consists of four Taluks namely Ponnani, Tirur, Tirurangadi, and Kondotty. Vattamkulam is a village in Malappuram district of the Indian state of Kerala. Vattamkulam means "Round Pond". Geography Vattamkulam is located near Edappal. Ponnani
Ponnani () is a municipality in Ponnani Taluk, Malappuram District, in the state of Kerala, India. It serves as the administrative center of the Taluk and Block Panchayat of the same name. It is situated at the estuary of Bharatappuzha (River Ponnani), on its southern bank, and is bounded by the Arabian Sea on the west and a series of brackish lagoons in the south. It is the seventh-most populated municipality in the state, the second-most populated municipality in the district, and the most densely populated municipality in Malappuram district, having about 3,646 residents per square kilometre as of the year 2011. Perumpadappa
Perumbadappu is a village located in Ponnani taluk, Malappuram district, Kerala state, India. It is situated 15 kilometers south of Ponnani, bordering Thrissur district. Perumbadappu is also headquarters of one of the 15 Block Panchayats in the district and a police station. Perumbadappu is located south of Veliyankode, in the middle of Malabar Coast. Chitrakoodam in Vanneri, Perumbadappu, was the original homeland of the Cochin rulers. When the king of Calicut annexed the region, the rulers of Permbadappu fled to Cranganore (Kodungallur). Later, they again changed their base to Cochin in the early 15th century, thus naming their state as Perumpadappu Swaroopam.
