List Of Tz Database Time Zones
This is a list of time zones from release of the tz database. Legend Type * Canonical - The primary, preferred zone name. * Link - An alternative name (alias) which links to a canonical zone. * Link - A standard Link (as above). The dagger symbol (†) signifies that the zone was canonical in a previous version of the database. Historical data for such zones is still preserved in the source code, but it is not included when compiling the database with standard options. UTC offset Standard Time (STD) and Daylight Saving Time (DST) offsets from UTC in hours and minutes. For zones in which Daylight Saving is not observed, the DST offset shown in this table is a simple duplication of the STD offset. The UTC offsets are based on the current or upcoming database rules. This table does not attempt to document any of the historical data which resides in the database. Time Zone abbreviations Time zone abbreviations for both Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time are shown exactly as t ...

South African Standard Time
South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone. Solar noon in this time zone occurs at 30° E in SAST, effectively making Pietermaritzburg at the correct solar noon point, with Johannesburg and Pretoria slightly west at 28° E and Durban slightly east at 31° E. Thus, most of South Africa's population experience true solar noon at approximately 12:00 daily. The western Northern Cape and Western Cape differ, however. Everywhere on land west of 22°30′ E effectively experiences year-round daylight saving time because of its location in true UTC+01:00 but still being in South African Standard Time. Sunrise and sunset are thus relatively late in Cape Town, compared to the rest of the country. To illustrate, daylight hours for South Africa's west ...

East Africa Time, or EAT, is a time zone used in eastern Africa. The time zone is three hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+03:00), which is the same as Moscow Time, Arabia Standard Time, Further-eastern European Time and Eastern European Summer Time. As this time zone is predominantly in the equatorial region, there is no significant change in day length throughout the year and so daylight saving time is not observed. East Africa Time is observed by the following countries: * * * * * * * * * See also *Moscow Time, an equivalent time zone covering Belarus, Turkey and most of European Russia, also at UTC+03:00 *Arabia Standard Time, an equivalent time zone covering Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, also at UTC+03:00 *Eastern European Summer Time, an equivalent time zone covering European and Middle Eastern countries during daylight saving, also at UTC+03:00 *Israel Summer Time, an equivalent time zone covering the State of Israel during daylight saving, also at UTC+ ...

Central European Summer Time
Central European Summer Time (CEST), sometimes referred to as Central European Daylight Time (CEDT), is the standard clock time observed during the period of summer daylight-saving in those European countries which observe Central European Time (CET; UTC+01:00) during the other part of the year. It corresponds to UTC+02:00, which makes it the same as Eastern European Time, Central Africa Time, South African Standard Time, Egypt Standard Time and Kaliningrad Time in Russia. Names Other names which have been applied to Central European Summer Time are Middle European Summer Time (MEST), Central European Daylight Saving Time (CEDT), and Bravo Time (after the second letter of the NATO phonetic alphabet). Period of observation Since 1996, European Summer Time has been observed between 01:00 UTC (02:00 CET and 03:00 CEST) on the last Sunday of March, and 01:00 UTC on the last Sunday of October; previously the rules were not uniform across the European Union. There were proposals ...

Africa/Ceuta
Spain has two time zones and observes daylight saving time. Spain mainly uses CET (UTC+01:00) and CEST (UTC+02:00) in Peninsular Spain, the Balearic Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and the plazas de soberanía. In the Canary Islands, the time zone is WET (UTC±00:00) and WEST (UTC+01:00). DST is observed from the last Sunday in March (01:00 WET) to the last Sunday in October (01:00 WET) throughout Spain. Spain used GMT (UTC±00:00) before the Second World War (except for the Canary Islands which used UTC−01:00 before this date). However, the time zone was changed to Central European Time in 1940 and has remained so since then, meaning that Spain does not use its "natural" time zone under the coordinated time zone system. Some observers believe that this time zone shift plays a role in the country's relatively unusual daily schedule (late meals and sleep times). History Standard time adoption Spain, like other parts of the world, used mean solar time until 31 December 1900. In San ...

Africa/Casablanca
, daylight saving time (DST) is permanently observed in Morocco. Previously, time was advanced to UTC+01:00 at 02:00 on the last Sunday of March, and reverted to UTC±00:00 (standard time), defined as Greenwich Mean Time locally, at 03:00 on the last Sunday of October. This practice was continued through October 2018, after which clocks were permanently advanced. An exception was made during the month of Ramadan during which clocks reverted to UTC+00:00 (standard time). For 2014, these dates were: :* 29 March – advance to UTC+01:00 (DST) :* 28 June – return to UTC+00:00 (start of Ramadan) :* 2 August – advance to UTC+01:00 (end of Ramadan) :* 26 October – return to UTC+00:00 (standard time) History * 2008: DST began on 1 June and ended on 1 September. This was the first time Morocco had used daylight saving time since 1978. * 2009: DST began on 1 June and ended on 21 August. * 2010: DST began on 2 May and ended on 8 August, just before Ramadan, a ...
