Minor leagues are professional sports leagues which are not regarded as the premier leagues in those sports. Minor league teams tend to play in smaller, less elaborate venues, often competing in smaller cities/markets. This term is used in North America with regard to several organizations competing in various sports. The New Jersey Generals are a professional American football team based in New Jersey. The Generals compete in the United States Football League (2022), United States Football League (USFL) as a member club of the league's North division. Queensboro FC
Queensboro FC is an upcoming American professional soccer team based in the borough of Queens in New York City. It was funded and founded on November of 2019. Queensboro FC will make its debut as an expansion team in the USL Championship. Josep Gombau was named the team's first head coach and sporting director on July 6, 2020. Their start date was also moved from the 2021 season to the 2022 season, and later the 2023 season. On October 6, 2020, QBFC unveiled their official crest and color scheme. New York Red Bulls II is an American professional soccer team based in Montclair, New Jersey. They are the reserve team of the New York Red Bulls and play in MLS Next Pro, the third tier in the American soccer pyramid. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two sports league, leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per each Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. Major League Football (MLFB) is a proposed professional American football minor league consisting of teams that are all league-owned and Major League Football, Inc., is a publicly traded company. MLFB will operate on a strict budget, well under the Alliance of American Football, USFL and the XFL operating budget, while it plans to be a developmental league similar to the NBA G League or Triple-A baseball.
