At The Foot Of The Mountain Theater
At the Foot of the Mountain Theater (AFOM) was a Professional theater based in Minneapolis, Minnesota that created and produced works centered on women's lives. Founded in 1974 and re-dedicated as a feminist theatre in 1977, it produced unique works on wide-ranging topics both in local productions and also through touring and performances at theater festivals. At the Foot of the Mountain Theater closed in 1991. History Founded by Martha and Paul Boesing, and Jan Magrane in 1974, At the Foot of the Mountain grew out of their experiences with experimental theater including at The Open Theater in New York City and the Firehouse Theater in the 1960s in Minneapolis. Boesing's involvement in the theater ended temporarily in 1984 when she accepted an 18-month Bush Fellowship to focus on her playwriting. HUGE Improv Theater
HUGE Improv Theater is a Minneapolis artist-led non-profit theater company founded in 2005 by improvisers Jill Bernard, Butch Roy, Nels Lennes, Joe Bozic and Mike Fotis, dedicated to long-form improvisational theater. HUGE’s presence has accelerated the growth of improvised theater and comedy in the Twin Cities, training thousands of new improvisers since its founding, expanding audience access from 56 to 500+ performances annually, and teaching 600+ students each year. In June 2023, HUGE closed its original location at 3037 Lyndale Avenue, and has purchased its own building at 2728 Lyndale Ave, Minneapolis, re-opening in the Autumn of 2023. Minnesota Opera is a performance organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was founded as the Center Opera Company in 1963 by the Walker Art Center, and is known for premiering such diverse works as ''Where the Wild Things Are'' by Oliver Knussen (based on the children's novel by Maurice Sendak) and ''Frankenstein'' by Libby Larsen.
