Free-to-air
Free-to-air (FTA) services are television (TV) and radio services broadcast in unencrypted form, allowing any person with the appropriate receiving equipment to receive the signal and view or listen to the content without requiring a subscription, other ongoing cost, or one-off fee (e.g., pay-per-view). In the traditional sense, this is carried on terrestrial radio signals and received with an antenna. FTA also refers to channels and broadcasters providing content for which no subscription is expected, even though they may be delivered to the viewer/listener by another carrier for which a subscription is required, e.g., cable television, the Internet, or satellite. SCTV (TV Network)
Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network. It was launched on 24 August 1990 in Surabaya, East Java as Surabaya Centra Televisi, broadcasting to the city and its surrounding area. At first, the programming was similar to that of RCTI, broadcasting foreign shows and some of RCTI news programs until they could produce their own. On 30 January 1993, SCTV obtained a national license and eventually moved its operations to Jakarta, changing its name to Surya Citra Televisi. Its main offices are located in Central Jakarta, with studios in West Jakarta. It is owned by Surya Citra Media, a publicly-listed subsidiary of the technology company Emtek. The CTV Television Network, commonly known as CTV, is a Canadian English-language terrestrial television network. Launched in 1961 and acquired by BCE Inc. in 2000, CTV is Canada's largest privately owned television network and is now a division of the Bell Media subsidiary of BCE. iNews (short for ''Indonesia News'', formerly named SUN TV and Sindo TV) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network founded by Media Nusantara Citra, a subsidiary of Global Mediacom unit of MNC Asia Holding. It broadcasting 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. History iNews (Indonesia News) was launched on 5 March 2008 as SUN TV as a pay television channel. It later 2009, obtained a television license from the government to start broadcasting as a free-to-air channel on terrestrial television in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. RTV (Indonesian TV Network)
Rajawali Televisi (RTV, stylized as rtv) is a commercial television network in Indonesia, owned by Rajawali Corpora. RTV is currently segmented as "family television", licensed via the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and its frequency is coordinated through the Department of Transportation. RTV officially aired for the first time on 1 November 2009, in Jakarta as B-Channel. With 24 hours of airtime, RTV's current programs focus on entertainment, soft news, and a variety of animation programs, ranging from anime, tokusatsu and children's animation. NET (Indonesian TV Network)
NET (an initialism of News and Entertainment Television, stylized as NET.) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network that was launched on 26 May 2013. It replaced Spacetoon on terrestrial television. The channel's programming is focused towards family and young viewers. History In 2012, PT Net Mediatama Indonesia was established. In March 2013 the company acquired PT Televisi Anak Spacetoon (Spacetoon) by purchasing 95% of its shares before the company was wholly acquired in May 2013. On 18 May 2013, NET started its trial broadcast using Spacetoon's frequencies on terrestrial television, limiting the latter broadcast to pay television. Kompas TV
Kompas TV is a national terrestrial private news television network in Indonesia. It is owned by the KG Media unit of Kompas Gramedia Group and is named after its flagship property, the ''Kompas'' daily newspaper. Kompas TV was founded in around 2008 and was launched on 9 September 2011 with ''Simfoni Semesta Raya's'' performance. Kompas TV's current slogan is "Independent, Reliable" ( id, Independen, Terpercaya). On 28 January 2016, Kompas TV was relaunched as a news-oriented network. Networks Hours before the maiden broadcast, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission issued a statement that Kompas TV did not have a broadcasting license. tvOne (Formerly known as Lativi) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network based in East Jakarta. tvOne is owned by Visi Media Asia, a unit of Bakrie Group. Trans TV is an Indonesian free-to-air television network based in South Jakarta that was launched on December 15, 2001 and owned by Chairul Tanjung.
