List Of Tehsils Of Madhya Pradesh
The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh is divided into 52 districts, which are further divided into 428 Tehsil, tehsils, or subdistricts. As an entity of local government, the tehsil office (panchayat samiti) exercises certain finance, fiscal and public administration, administrative power over the villages and municipality, municipalities within its jurisdiction. It is the ultimate executive agency for Deed, land records and related administrative matters. The chief official is called the ''tehsildar''. In some instances, tehsils overlap with "blocks" (panchayat union blocks or panchayat development blocks) and come under the land and revenue department, headed by tehsildar; and blocks come under the rural development department, headed by the block development officer and serve different government administrative functions over the same or similar geographical area. Berasia is a town and a nagar palika (municipality) in Bhopal district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. History In the early 18th century, Berasia was a small ''mustajiri'' (rented estate) under the authority of the Delhi-based Mughal fief-holder Taj Mohammad Khan. It suffered from anarchy and lawlessness due to regular attacks from highwaymen and plunderers. Dost Mohammad Khan, a Mughal soldier-turned-mercenary of Afghan descent, took on the lease of Berasia for an annual payment of 30,000 rupees.
