Tambon
''Tambon'' ( th, ตำบล, ) is a local governmental unit in Thailand. Below district (''amphoe'') and province (''changwat''), they form the third administrative subdivision level. there were 7,255 tambons, not including the 180 ''khwaeng'' of Bangkok, which are set at the same administrative level, thus every district contains eight to ten tambon. ''Tambon'' is usually translated as "township" or "subdistrict" in English — the latter is the recommended translation, though also often used for ''king amphoe'', the designation for a subdistrict acting as a branch (Thai: ''king'') of the parent district. Tambon are further subdivided into 69,307 villages ('' muban''), about ten per ''tambon''. Umphang District
Umphang ( th, อุ้มผาง, ) is the southernmost district (''amphoe'') of Tak province, Thailand, established by the Royal Decree Establishing Amphoe Umphang, BE 2502 (1959), which came into force on 6 May 1959. The district is on the Thai- Burmese border. It is also the name of the town center of the district. Neighboring districts are (north from clockwise): Phop Phra district; Khlong Lan district, and Pang Sila Thong district of Kamphaeng Phet province; Mae Wong district and Mae Poen district of Nakhon Sawan province; Ban Rai district of Uthai Thani province; and Thong Pha Phum district and Sangkhla Buri district of Kanchanaburi province. The western edge of the district has a long boundary with Burma. Surrounded by national parks and wildlife reserves, it is one of the least accessible districts in Thailand. Mae is an American rock band that formed in Norfolk, Virginia in 2001. The band's name is an acronym for "Multi-sensory Aesthetic Experience", based on a course taken by drummer Jacob Marshall while a student at Old Dominion University. History Early years with Tooth and Nail (2001–2006) Jacob Marshall and Dave Elkins began what would become Mae by writing their first song, "Embers and Envelopes", in Marshall's living room. The band signed with Tooth and Nail Records and released their first album, '' Destination: Beautiful'', in 2003. They released their second full-length album, ''The Everglow'', in 2005. The band toured extensively to promote it, and also performed on the Vans Warped Tour. Mae re-released ''The Everglow'' in 2006, adding three new songs and a two-hour DVD. Wiang Pa Pao District
Wiang Pa Pao (; ) is the southwesternmost district ('' amphoe'') of Chiang Rai province, northern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise): Mae Suai and Phan of Chiang Rai Province; Wang Nuea and Mueang Pan of Lampang province; Doi Saket and Phrao of Chiang Mai province. The Khun Tan Range runs along the west side of the district and its highest point, 2,031 m high Doi Mae Tho, is at its southwest end. History Wiang Pa Pao was one of the ''mueang'' in northern Thailand. In 1905 the District Wiang Pa Pao was merged with Mueang Phong and renamed Mae Suai, while the central area of the old ''mueang'' kept the name as the minor district ('' King Khwaeng'') Wiang Pa Pao. Mae Ramat District
Mae Ramat ( th, แม่ระมาด, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the northwestern part of Tak province, western Thailand. History The area of Mae Ramat was occupied by Karen people for 100 years. Many people from northern provinces of Thailand moved to establish a new village there. Later the village grew bigger and became the Tambon Mae Ramat. The government upgraded the tambon to a minor district (''king amphoe'') in 1897. It was upgraded to a full district in 1951.
