Tambon
''Tambon'' ( th, ตำบล, ) is a local governmental unit in Thailand. Below district (''amphoe'') and province (''changwat''), they form the third administrative subdivision level. there were 7,255 tambons, not including the 180 ''khwaeng'' of Bangkok, which are set at the same administrative level, thus every district contains eight to ten tambon. ''Tambon'' is usually translated as "township" or "subdistrict" in English — the latter is the recommended translation, though also often used for ''king amphoe'', the designation for a subdistrict acting as a branch (Thai: ''king'') of the parent district. Tambon are further subdivided into 69,307 villages ('' muban''), about ten per ''tambon''. Ban Mai Chaiyaphot District
Ban Mai Chaiyaphot ( th, บ้านใหม่ไชยพจน์, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Buriram province, northeastern Thailand. History The minor district (''king amphoe'') Ban Mai Chaiyaphot was created on 1 April 1992 by splitting off five ''tambons'' from Phutthaisong district. On 11 October 1997 it was upgraded to a full district. Motto The Ban Mai Chaiyaphot District's motto is "Ku Suan Taeng and Ku Reu See so elegant, beautiful silk, rocket festival." Geography Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Phutthaisong of Buriram Province, Mueang Yang and Prathai of Nakhon Ratchasima province, and Nong Song Hong of Khon Kaen province. Bua Yai District
Bua Yai (, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the northern part of Nakhon Ratchasima province, northern central Thailand. History Bua Yai dates back to the frontier town called Dan Nok (ด่านนอก). The center of the town was Ban Nong Lang Yai. In 1868, it was upgraded to Dan Nok District and the town center was moved to Ban Nong Lang Noi. The district office was moved again to Ban Bua Yai in 1905, and the district was renamed accordingly. The office was three kilometers from the Bua Yai railway junction. The presence of the railway spurred development of the village Ban Fat Fueay which became the new site of the district office in 1951. Non Thai District
Non Thai ( th, โนนไทย, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Ratchasima province, northeastern Thailand. History Originally, the area was ''Khwaeng San Thia'' (แขวงสันเทียะ). ''San Thia'' is Khmer, meaning 'a place to gather salt'. The name refers to the tradition of salt production in the area. In 1900, ''Khwaeng San Thia'' was changed to a district and renamed ''Non Lao''. The following year it was named ''San Thia''. In 1919, the district name was changed to ''Non Lao'' again. Finally in the phase of Thai nationalism under Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram, the district name was changed to ''Non Thai'' in 1939 to remove the reference to the Lao population in the name. Ratchaburi
Ratchaburi ( th, ราชบุรี, ) or Rajburi, Rat Buri) is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in western Thailand, capital of Ratchaburi Province. Ratchaburi town covers the entire ''tambon'' Na Mueang (หน้าเมือง) of Mueang Ratchaburi District. As of 2017 it had an estimated population of 36,169, down from 38,149 in 2005. History The earliest evidence of settled habitation is that of the Dvaravati culture. At one time it was thought that the early town was founded on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, and that over time the coast had moved 30 km (18 miles) away to the south, due to sedimentation coming down the Mae Klong River. However, geological and palynological investigation has shown that these early Dvaravati and proto-Dvaravati towns were all inland, at the edges of swamps when founded.
