Morocco (),, ) officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is the westernmost country in the Maghreb region of North Africa. Merzouga
Merzouga is a small village in southeastern Morocco, about southeast of Rissani, about from Erfoud and about from the Algerian border. The village is known for its proximity to Erg Chebbi and is a popular destination for tourists. It has been described as "a desert theme park" and the Erg Chebbi as "a wonderland of sand". Merzouga has the largest natural underground body of water in Morocco. In 2006, Merzouga experienced devastating flash floods, displacing 1,200 and resulting in some deaths. Near the dunes of Erg Chebbi there are other known villages: Hassilabied away, Tanamoust away, Takoujt away, Khamlia away and Tisserdmine away. Al Noor Tower
The Al Noor Tower is a cancelled 540 meters skyscraper that was to be built in Casablanca, Morocco. If built, it would have been the tallest building in Africa. The concept of the tower was created by a French designer, Amédée Santalo, based in Dubai. The owner is Sheikh Tarek bin Laden, the half brother of Osama bin Laden. The project was canceled in 2018. The Liberty Building (, ), also known as "17 Stories" ( or ), is a 17-story residential tower in Casablanca, Morocco. It was designed by Léonard Morandi and built between 1949 and 1951. At the time of its construction, it was one of the tallest buildings on the African continent. History Léonard Morandi departed on a prospective trip to Morocco at the end of 1946. Morandi ultimately settled in Casablanca in 1947. Italie 13 (or Italie XIII) is the name of a large urbanism project in Paris which started in the 1960s and was interrupted in the 1970s. Its purpose was to profoundly modify the structure of some areas of the 13th arrondissement, mainly around the Avenue d'Italie which inspired its name. The partially completed project led to the creation of numerous towers in the south of the arrondissement, notably Les Olympiades.
