Putatan District
The Putatan district ( ms, Daerah Putatan) is an administrative district in the Malaysian state of Sabah, part of the West Coast Division which includes the districts of Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Penampang, Ranau and Tuaran. The capital of the district is in Putatan Town. All matters in this town are under the district jurisdiction except for matters such as education and security are still under the supervision of the Penampang District. Etymology The district name originated from "''putat''", a flowering mangrove tree that was once abundant in the area. Tun Mustapha Tower
Tun Mustapha Tower is a 122 metre, 30-story glass tower in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It was built in 1976 by Mori Building Company, a Japanese builder. The building was formerly named Yayasan Sabah Tower as it housed Sabah Foundation (Yayasan Sabah), a state-sponsored foundation to promote education and economic development in the state. In 2001, the tower was renamed to honour Tun Datu Mustapha, a former Sabah chief minister. It is the fifth tallest building in Borneo after the 132-metre tall Sabah State Administrative Centre, 129-metre tall Jesselton Quay Citypads, 126-metre tall Wisma Sanyan and the 125-metre tall Harrington Suites. There is a revolving floor on the 18th floor, which slowly spins to give a complete view of Likas Harbour. It makes one 360 degree rotation per hour. Likas
Likas is a sub-district in the city of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Likas is known for where shopping complex, government and private hospital, universities and colleges such as Universiti Malaysia Sabah and government administration centre is located. Likas Sports Complex together with Sabah Women and Child Hospital is also located here. The area also mostly covered by housing estate such as the Likas Village. Likas is also a bustling metropolitan area where new high skyscrapers buildings have recently flourished. The area is also known for its beaches, the "Tanjung Lipat or Likas Bay", a coastal line stretching about 7 kilometres from the city port until the Tun Mustapha Tower. Kinabalu Tower
Kinabalu Tower, also known as Sabah State Administrative Centre is a 33-storey, 132-meter-tall, government office complex building in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is Kota Kinabalu and Borneo's second tallest building. The complex consists of a single 33-storey office tower and two 9-storey office buildings and house the state's chief minister's office and other state government cabinet members. The construction commenced in August 2011 and was scheduled to complete in 30 months. Today, the 33-storey office tower is the second tallest building in Borneo just after the Jesselton Twin Towers, which is in the same city.
