State highway spurs in Texas are owned and maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Spur 1 Spur 1 is a designation that has been used for two different routes, one in Uvalde County, Texas, Uvalde County and the other in El Paso County, Texas, El Paso County. Spur 1 (1939) The first use of the Spur 1 designation was in Uvalde County, from U.S. Route 90 in Texas, US 90 west of Uvalde, Texas, Uvalde south to the Uvalde National Fish Hatchery. On February 12, 1943, an 0.4 mile extension across the hatchery property to a connection with the Uvalde-Eagle Pass County Road was proposed. Farm To Market Road 1905 (FM 1905) is a farm-to-market road in the U.S. state of Texas, maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation. The entire route is in the town of Anthony, which is located across the state line from New Mexico. It is the first road with which Interstate 10 has an interchange after entering Texas from New Mexico. FM 1905 begins at the state border as a continuation of NM 225, and ends at Interstate 10 in Anthony. A short segment is concurrent with SH 20. The FM 1905 designation was first assigned in 1951, and was extended to its current route in 1969. State Highway 20 (SH 20) is a highway maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that runs from New Mexico State Road 460 at the state line between Texas and New Mexico at Anthony in El Paso County to Interstate 10 at McNary in Hudspeth County. It largely follows a former alignment of U.S. Route 80. The route passes through the city of El Paso as well as suburban and rural farming communities along the Rio Grande. With the exception of a stretch north of central El Paso where the route crosses north of I-10, the route generally runs in a narrow belt between I-10 and the Rio Grande. Texas State Highway 73
State Highway 73 (SH 73) is a Texas state highway that runs from Winnie through Port Arthur to near Orange. In September 2008, Hurricane Ike forced the closure of SH 73. Among other road debris left by the storm were two 200-ton barges. The storm surge pushed the barges inland before they came to rest on the highway. History Previous routes The original SH 73 was designated on August 21, 1923, from Oldenburg to Houston, absorbing the eastern half of SH 3A. On October 26, 1932, it was rerouted southwest from Katy to Alleyton, with the portion from Oldenburg to Industry being another section ( FM 109 would connect the two sections later).
