List Of Speakers Of The Bihar Legislative Assembly
The Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is the presiding officer of the Legislative Assembly of Bihar, the main law-making body for the Indian state of Bihar. The Speaker is elected in the very first meeting of the Bihar Legislative Assembly after the general elections for a term of 5 years from amongst the members of the assembly. Speakers hold office until ceasing to be a member of the assembly or resigning from the office. The Speaker can be removed from office by a resolution passed in the assembly by an effective majority of its members. In the absence of Speaker, the meeting is presided by the Deputy Speaker. Bihar Legislative Assembly
The Bihar Legislative Assembly, also known as the Bihar Vidhan Sabha, is the lower house of the Bihar Legislature where the first elections were held in 1952. The total strength of membership in the Assembly was 331, including one nominated member. Dr.Shri Krishna Singh became the first Leader of the House and the first Chief Minister, Dr. Anugrah Narayan Singh was elected as the first Deputy Leader of the Assembly and became state's first Deputy Chief Minister. It was reduced to 318 during the second General Elections. In 1977, the total number of elected members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly was further raised from 318 to 325. With the creation of a separate State of Jharkhand, by an Act of Parliament titled as the Bihar Reorganisation Act, the strength of the Bihar Legislative Assembly was reduced from 325 to 243 members. Sadanand Singh (21 May 1943 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian politician. He was the former Speaker of the Bihar Assembly. Life Sadanand Singh was born in a Kurmi family of Bihar.He served as member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for nine terms from Kahalgaon Assembly constituency of Bhagalpur. Between 2000-05, he served as speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly as well as minister in Government of Bihar. He was a president of Bihar Provincial Congress Committee for two terms. Rashtriya Janata Dal
The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD; translation: ''National People's Party'') is an Indian political party, based in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Kerala. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav. The party's support base has traditionally been Other Backward Classes, Dalits and Muslims and it is considered a political champion of the lower castes. In 2008, RJD received the status of recognized national level party following its performance in north-eastern states. RJD was derecognised as a national party on 30 July 2010. Janata Dal got a decisive victory in the state; political manoeuvre ensured Lalu Prasad Yadav's victory in the chief ministership. Deo Narayan Yadav (died 4 March, 2003) was an Indian politician and freedom fighter, elected first time 1952–1957 and 1957–1962 from Ladaniya constituency (now Babubarhi constituency). He was a member of the first ministry of Bihar led by Krishana Sinha. Yadav served as the 12th Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1995–2000.
