Nickelback is a Canadian hard rock band from Hanna, Alberta. The band was founded in 1995 by vocalist and guitarist Chad Kroeger, guitarist and vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger and drummer Brandon Kroeger. After the release of their debut extended play (EP) '' Hesher'', the group released its debut full-length album ''Curb'' in 1996, which featured songwriting credits for all four band members as well as producer Jeff Boyd. ''The State'' followed in 1998, once again written by all four members of the band. After Brandon Kroeger left the band and was replaced by Ryan Vikedal, Nickelback signed with Roadrunner Records and released their third album ''Silver Side Up'' in 2001, supported by lead single "How You Remind Me". ''The Long Road'' is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on September 23, 2003. Recorded at the famed Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, it is the band's last album with Ryan Vikedal as drummer, and features a notable change in style towards more aggressive riffs and double bass drumming. The album was certified 3× Platinum by the RIAA in March 2005 and it had sold 3,591,000 copies as of April 2011. Joey Moi
Joey Moi is a Canadian record producer, audio engineer, mixer, songwriter, and musician. He is known for his work with the rock groups Nickelback and My Darkest Days, and country music acts Chris Lane, Dallas Smith, Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen and Morgan Wallen. Moi was born in Whitehorse, Yukon, spending his first three years in Dawson City before moving to Gambier Island, British Columbia in 1979, then to Tumbler Ridge when he was ten. After graduating from Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, he moved to Vancouver, to attend the Audio Engineering program at the Centre for Digital Imaging and Sound (CDIS). "Side of a Bullet" is Nickelback's seventh and final single from the album ''All the Right Reasons''. The song was released only to U.S. rock stations. "Side of a Bullet" charted on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Chart, peaking at number 7, giving Nickelback their fourth top-ten hit on the chart from ''All the Right Reasons''. Background The song is a tribute to Dimebag Darrell who was shot and killed on stage while performing in Columbus, Ohio, with Damageplan. It features aggressive guitars and double bass drumming. Darrell Lance Abbott (August 20, 1966 – December 8, 2004), best known by his stage name Dimebag Darrell, was an American musician. He was the guitarist of the heavy metal bands Pantera and Damageplan, both of which he co-founded alongside his brother Vinnie Paul. He is often regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal guitarists of all time. A son of country music producer Jerry Abbott, Abbott began playing guitar at age 12, and Pantera released its debut album, ''Metal Magic'' (1983), when he was 16. Damageplan was an American heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2003. Following the demise of their previous group Pantera, brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott wanted to start a new band. The pair recruited former Diesel Machine and Halford guitarist Patrick Lachman on vocals, and later Bob Zilla on bass. Damageplan released '' New Found Power'', their only album, on February 10, 2004. ''New Found Power'' debuted at number 38 on the ''Billboard'' 200, selling 44,676 copies in its first week. William Frederick Gibbons (born December 16, 1949) is an American musician who is the guitarist and lead singer of the rock band ZZ Top.
