MGMT
MGMT () is an American indie rock band formed in 2002 in Middletown, Connecticut. It was founded by multi-instrumentalists Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser. Alongside VanWyngarden and Goldwasser, MGMT's live lineup currently consists of drummer Will Berman, bassist Simon O'Connor, and guitarist and keyboard James Richardson. Originally signed to Cantora Records by the nascent label's co-founder, NYU undergrad Will Griggs, MGMT later signed with Columbia and RED Ink in 2006 and released their debut album '' Oracular Spectacular'' the next year. After the release of ''Oracular Spectacular'' Richardson, Berman and Matthew Asti joined the core band in the studio for ''Congratulations,'' which was released on April 13, 2010. In January 2011 they began work on their eponymous third studio album. It was released on September 17, 2013, and was released as an early exclusive on Rdio on September 9, 2013. Connan Mockasin
Connan Tant Hosford, better known by the stage name Connan Mockasin and sometimes credited as Connan Hosford, is a New Zealand musician, composer and record producer. Critically acclaimed and described as "a psych-funk oddball...a contrarian", Mockasin has been credited with the 21st century crossover of psychedelic and indie music, and praised for his unique and isolated approach to songwriting. Born in Newtown, Wellington and raised in Te Awanga, Hawke's Bay, Mockasin grew up between rural vineyards, the son of a musician, and went to school in Havelock North. He gained his stage surname from his childhood habit of making mocassin-like shoes out of sheepskin and old motorbike tyres. He moved to Wellington age 20 to further his music career, and played in various bands until the formation of Connan and The Mockasins in 2006. Brian Joseph Burton (born July 29, 1977), known professionally as Danger Mouse, is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He came to prominence in 2004 when he released ''The Grey Album'', which combined vocal performances from Jay-Z's '' The Black Album'' with instrumentals from the Beatles' ''The Beatles'', also known as ''The White Album''. In 2008, ''Esquire'' named him one of the "75 most influential people of the 21st century". He formed Gnarls Barkley with CeeLo Green and produced its albums '' St. Elsewhere'' and ''The Odd Couple''. "Time to Pretend" is a song by the American indie band MGMT, released as the lead single from their debut studio album '' Oracular Spectacular'' (2007) on March 3, 2008. An earlier version had been released on their '' Time to Pretend'' EP. The single was released as a 7" and CD single featuring the B-sides "Weekend Wars" (BBC Radio 1 Session) and " Metanoia", respectively. In early 2009, the song was re-released in the UK. The song was ranked at number 493 on ''Rolling Stone''s list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", and its parent album, '' Oracular Spectacular'', was ranked at number 494 on the publication's additional list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". "Metanoia" is the special limited edition single release that was originally a b-side on MGMT's debut CD single "Time to Pretend". It was released August 18, 2008, available in 10" etched vinyl. "Metanoia" was named "Song of the Day" on September 16, 2008 by Rolling Stone, describing it as a "14-minute opus, which ranges from Donovan-ish acid ballads to interstellar synth-powered dirges to falsetto-laden theater rock." "Little Dark Age" is a song by American rock band MGMT. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album, ''Little Dark Age'', on October 17, 2017, through Columbia Records. In an interview with ''Newsweek'', Andrew VanWyngarden, the lead vocalist, guitar player and songwriter for the band stated that 1980s Soviet synth-pop was influential to the song. Release Leading up to the song's release, the band made several posts on their social media hyping up the album and then upcoming single. On October 12, 2017, the band posted a video clip of the beginning instrumental of the song to their social media with the caption "#LittleDarkAge". "Little Dark Age" was released as a digital single on October 17 through Columbia Records. The song was released with an accompanying music video. "Kids" is a song by American rock band MGMT. It was released as the third and final single from their debut studio album '' Oracular Spectacular'' (2007) on October 13, 2008. The version of the song that appears on ''Oracular Spectacular'' is updated from earlier versions that appear on the band's EPs ''Time to Pretend'' (2005) and ''We (Don't) Care'' (2004). A track entitled "Kids (Afterschool Dance Megamix)" appears on the album ''Climbing to New Lows'' (2005). "It's Working" is the third single released from the album ''Congratulations'' by MGMT. The album covers were made by So Me. Sonic Boom's commentary on the track, before the ''Congratulations'' sessions at the Blanker Unsinn Studio on 2010, is "Love? Or Confusion? Reality? Contusion? Subterranea or Sub-fusion. The Quest begins." History The single was added to BBC Radio 1's C-Playlist in May 2010 and later upgraded to the B-Playlist. On June 29, the single was released as a digital download on iTunes, with the name of "It's Working Digital 45" and contains the Air and Violens remix. On June 30, the remix by Air was given as a free download on RCRD LBL. Pete Kember
Peter Kember (born 19 November 1965), also known by his stage name Sonic Boom, is an English singer and record producer. He was a founding member, vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist of alternative rock band Spacemen 3, lasting from 1982 until the band's dissolution in 1991. He is now based in Sintra, Portugal. He provided the production on MGMT's second album ''Congratulations,'' Panda Bear's albums ''Tomboy'' and ''Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper'', and Beach House's album '' 7''. As a solo artist, Kember has recorded as Spectrum and E.A.R. (Experimental Audio Research), parallel musical projects with recordings under both names occasionally only featuring Kember. Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Fleetwood Mac were founded by guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer, before bassist John McVie joined the line-up for their eponymous debut album. Danny Kirwan joined as a third guitarist in 1968.
