CGS ''Sobuj Bangla'' is the lead vessel of the Sobuj Bangla-class inshore patrol vessels of the Bangladesh Coast Guard. She is serving the Bangladesh Coast Guard since 2020. Career The ship was laid down on 21 April 2015. She was launched on 1 December 2016. She was handed over to the Bangladesh Coast Guard on 1 August 2018. She was commissioned to the Bangladesh Coast Guard on 15 November 2020. Design The ship is long, wide and has a draught with a displacement of 297 tonnes. The patrol craft is powered by two German DEUTZ diesel engines which can produce driving two shafts for a top speed of . She has a complement of 45 and a maximum range of . Dockyard and Engineering Works (DEW) Limited is a ship construction and repair yard at the Narayanganj, Bangladesh owned by the Government of Bangladesh under Ministry of Defence (Bangladesh), Ministry of Defence and managed by the Bangladesh Navy. The yard built many small to medium-sized patrol boats for the Bangladesh Coast Guard and landing craft for the Bangladesh Navy. History The shipyard was founded in 1922.
