Evrytania
Evrytania ( el, Ευρυτανία, ; Latin: ''Eurytania'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Central Greece. Its capital is Karpenisi (approx. 8,000 inhabitants). Geography Evrytania is almost entirely formed of mountains, including the Tymfristos and the Panaitoliko in the south. Its rivers include the Acheloos in the west, Agrafiotis to the east, and Megdova in the east flowing down to the Ionian Sea. It is one of the least populated regional units in Greece. The area borders Aetolia-Acarnania to the west, southwest and south (west over the Acheloos river), Karditsa regional unit to the north, and Phthiotis to the east. Evrytania also features a famous skiing resort located near Karpenisi on the Tymfristos mountain. Climate Its climate is a mixture of Mediterranean and mountainous in the western portion. Karpenisi
Karpenisi ( el, Καρπενήσι, ) is a town in central Greece. It is the capital of the regional unit of Evrytania. Karpenisi is situated in the valley of the river Karpenisiotis (Καρπενησιώτης), a tributary of the Megdovas, in the southern part of the Pindus Mountains. Mount Tymfristos (2,315 m elevation) lies directly to the north of the town, and the foothills of mount Kaliakouda are in the south. Karpenisi has a ski resort and is a popular destination, especially during winter. It is called ''Switzerland of Greece'' for the resemblance with the mountainous country and its beauty, atypical for a Mediterranean place. Etymology The name Karpenisi derives from the Aromanian word kárpinu ( Carpinus betulus) + the ending -iş. The Greek spelling "Καρπενήσι" is influenced by folk etymology, the second combining form appearing to be "νησί" (island, pronounced iˈsi. Granitsa, Evrytania
Granitsa ( el, Γρανίτσα from the Slavic word for "border") is a mountain village and a community in Evrytania, Greece. It is situated at 720 meters elevation, on a mountain slope above the river Granitsiotis. It is built in the forested lower regions of Mount Liakoura. Granitsa was the seat of the municipality of Aperantia. The community consists of the villages Granitsa, Ano Potamia, Kato Potamia and Armampela. The village preserves its old appearance. It is 82 kilometers northwest of Karpenisi. Granitsa is the birthplace of artists such as Stefanos Granitsas, Demosthenis Goulas, and Michael Stafylas. It is also the home of Michael Mavroudis, who became a martyr after he was killed in 1544. Granitsa had seventeen churches, most of which were destroyed during Ottoman rule. It has a Folklore Museum which contains popular art such as woven objects, carved wooden objects, rural cattle-raising tools, a loom, local clothes and weapons from the Greek Revolution of 182 ...

Fourna
Fourna ( el, Φουρνά) is a village and a former municipality in Evrytania in central Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Karpenisi, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 132.232 km2. The population of the municipal unit is 625 (2011 census). The municipal unit consists of the villages Fourna, Vracha (Greek: Βράχα), and Kleisto (Greek: Κλειστό).
