Federal Government College, Ijanikin
The Federal Government College, Ijanikin is a co-educational secondary school in Ijanikin, Lagos State, Lagos, Nigeria. It was established by the Federal give Ministry of Education in 1975. The idea of this college in Lagos was conceived in the minds of the authorities of the Federal Ministry of Education early in 1974 when they thought it necessary to have one co-educational institution for Lagos state as there were in all the then 12 states of the Federation. The college was founded by the Federal Ministry of Education in line with the Federal Government’s intention to establish in each state of the federation one co-educational as well as one girls’ secondary school. At inception, the college opened with 116 Form One and 45 Lower Six students with a teaching staff of 20. The Form One students were made up of 64 boys and 52 girls, while the Lower Six students consisted of 24 boys and 21 girls. Indian Language School
The Indian Language School was established in Lagos, Nigeria in 1982 in light of the growing Indian community in the city. Indian Language School is a private school setup by the Indian high commission in Nigeria. It was originally set up in a residential neighborhood at 11 Johnson Street, Illupeju. The school began as converted residences — with three floors, a playground, a football court, a basketball court, and a volleyball court. Over the past few years, the school has expanded significantly, acquiring nearby properties, thus catering to the large number of students that enroll with the school each year. This is currently the only Indian school in Lagos and offers education till 12th standard. Igbobi College
Igbobi College is a college established by the Methodist and Anglican Churches in 1932, in the Yaba suburb of Lagos, Lagos State, South-western Nigeria. It is still on its original site and most of the original buildings are intact. It is one of the oldest colleges in Nigeria, and has been the alma mater of a number of well-known Nigerians. Government College Ikorodu (GCI) is a college founded 21st September, 1974, in Ikorodu Local Government Area, Lagos State, Nigeria. History Government College Ikorodu was established in September 1974 as a co-educational secondary school with an initial intake of about 200 pioneer students. These students were transferred from other secondary schools in Lagos state from where they were seconded based on the common entrance examination applications that year.
