The Metropolitan Borough of Bury is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester in North West England, just north of Manchester, to the east of Bolton and west of Rochdale. The borough is centred around the town of Bury, Greater Manchester, Bury but also includes other towns such as Ramsbottom, Tottington, Greater Manchester, Tottington, Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, Radcliffe, Whitefield, Greater Manchester, Whitefield and Prestwich. Hollins, Bury
Unsworth is a village and residential area of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, in Greater Manchester, England. The population of Unsworth Ward, as of the 2011 census is 9,492. The village sits approximately north of the city of Manchester and 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the town of Bury, and contains the area of Hollins, and part of Sunnybank. Historically a part of Lancashire, Unsworth has been recorded as far back as the 13th century. Its name is thought to derive from the Old English word “hound,” literally meaning “place of the hounds.” Unsworth's development as a village mostly took place during and after the industrial revolution, when due to its nearby waterways, it became involved in the manufacturing of dye and bleach. Manchester Mesivta School is a Jewish secondary school for boys located in Prestwich in the English county of Greater Manchester. It is a voluntary aided school administered by Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, but admits Orthodox Jewish boys aged 11 to 16 from all over Greater Manchester. Previously a private school, Manchester Mesivta School became voluntary-aided in 2004 and relocated to new buildings in 2005. The Heys School
The Heys School is a coeducational secondary school located in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, England. History The school opened as Heys Road School for Boys in 1936 and was used for treating wounded soldiers during the Second World War. It merged with Hope Park Girls' School, also in Prestwich, in 1979, becoming Prestwich High School. The new block was opened in 1981, and includes a sports hall, science rooms, and art and woodwork rooms. In 2002, a new humanities block was opened. The school later became Prestwich Community High School and, upon receiving specialist arts status in 2004, Prestwich Arts College. Derby High School or "The Derby" as it is known locally, is a secondary school, located on Radcliffe Road, Bury, Greater Manchester, England. It opened in September 1959 as the Derby Grammar School, a new school that offered both a grammar and a technical education. Some of the pupils moved from Bury High School, a Grammar School on nearby Parliament Street, which closed when the Derby opened. They had gone there having passed the Eleven Plus examination. Other pupils came from Bury Junior Technical School having attended that school from the age of 13 years. The school was formed by merging those two schools into a grammar-technical school. Tottington is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury in Greater Manchester, England, on the edge of the West Pennine Moors. Historically in Lancashire, it was a medieval fee, a type of royal manor, which encompassed several townships from Musbury and Cowpe with Lench in the north to Affetside in the west and Walshaw in the south west, while the township of Tottington itself was a small agricultural settlement surrounded by open farmland and hunting ground where deer and wild boar were found.
