Reggae Rock
Reggae rock is a subgenre of reggae fusion and rock music that primarily uses the genres reggae, rock, and ska. Typical lyrics of reggae rock songs incorporate love, personal awareness, and life challenges while incorporating music and beat elements of rock, punk, and hip-hop. The term "reggae rock" has been used to categorize bands like the Police, Men at Work, Sublime, Sublime with Rome, Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, the Expendables, Iration, the Dirty Heads, Rebelution, 311 and, to some extent, heavier bands such as Fishbone and Bad Brains. Among the earliest examples of the genre are the 1972 songs "D'yer Mak'er" by English rock band Led Zeppelin and "C Moon" by Paul McCartney and Wings. The term "reggae metal" has been used to describe bands that combine reggae rock with heavy metal, such as Dub War, Shinobi Ninja, Skindred, Twelve Foot Ninja, and Zeroscape. The ''Toronto Sun'' is an English-language tabloid newspaper published daily in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The newspaper is one of several ''Sun'' tabloids published by Postmedia Network. Echo Movement is an American reggae band based in New Jersey. As of 2012, they are a seven-piece band. Echo Movement performed on the House of Marley Stage on the Warped Tour 2012, according to the tour's official website. The band released their fifth studio album, "Love and the Human Outreach." The album, which was listed in the "2012 Most Anticipated Albums" on www.ThePier.org., was met with strong enthusiasm as rumors of "space reggae" began to appear on CNN, Wired Magazine and Space.com. The album cover artwork was painted by fine-artist Jay Alders, who also painted the cover of the band's 2009 release, "In The Ocean." Dread Zeppelin is an American reggae rock band. Formed in 1989 in Sierra Madre, California, the band combines hard rock and reggae styles with humor. They are best known for performing the songs of Led Zeppelin in a reggae style as sung by a Las Vegas Elvis impersonator. MTVU (formerly stylized as MtvU and mtvU) is an American digital cable TV channel owned by the MTV Entertainment Group, a unit of the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global.
