The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that regulates communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable across the United States. WBFI (91.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Gospel Music format. The station is licensed to McDaniels, Kentucky, United States. The station is currently owned by Bethel Fellowship, Inc. History After the construction permit was initially issued in 1985, the station first signed on the air in 1987 under ownership of the Bethel Fellowship Church and Christian School. It originally functioned as an educational tool for the school, as well as outreach media outlet of the church. WBCE (1200 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a religious format, licensed to Wickliffe, Kentucky, United States. The station is owned by Wendell D. Gray. History WBCE was put on air by a pair of attorneys, Charles Geveden and Bill Cunningham, who under the Ballard-Carlisle Broadcasting Company put stations on air in Wickliffe and Eddyville. The station's call letters were chosen after WBCK, the first option in mind, was found to be in use in Battle Creek, Michigan; the station later justified the E for "Entertainment" by the time it signed on January 3, 1981 on 1010 kHz. After signing on with a country format (as well as NBC and Kentucky Network news), WBCE changed formats to gospel music on November 1, 1982, citing the glut of area stations playing country music. WAYK (105.9 FM) is an American contemporary Christian music station in the Louisville, Kentucky, metropolitan area. It is a WAY-FM Network owned-and-operated station. 105.9 FM was initially a construction permit with the call letters WVSL in 1991. On September 1, 1993, it officially signed on with an active rock format as "QMF Too," in reference to then-sister station WQMF (105.9 changed to the WQNF call letters). In July 1995, the station shifted to modern rock, rebranded as "Q105.9", and changed call letters to WXNU.
