CityLink Red (abbreviated "RD") is a citylink bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, University of Maryland Transit Center to the Lutherville Light Rail Stop along the corridors of Maryland Route 45, York Road and Greenmount Avenue, and is one of the most heavily used MTA bus lines. Line 8 (Madrid Metro)
Line 8 of the Madrid Metro opened between Mar de Cristal and Campo de las Naciones (now Feria de Madrid) on 24 June 1998. An extension to Barajas via Madrid Airport was opened in 1999 and in 2002 an extension to Nuevos Ministerios and Colombia opened. Originally this line was a small-profile line, but in 2002 it became a large rolling stock line. The line uses 4-car versions of class 8000 trains. In 2007 an intermediate station called Pinar del Rey opened between Colombia and Mar de Cristal, as did an extension to the new Terminal 4 of Madrid Airport. The line was temporarily closed for renovation from 26 January to 12 April 2017. NWFB Route 8
Route 8 on Hong Kong Island is an express bus service operated by New World First Bus (NWFB), between Exhibition Centre station and Heng Fa Chuen. History Route 8 was started by China Motor Bus on 12 November 1949, between Wan Chai Ferry (then next to Stuart Road and Shau Kei Wan via King's Road and Shau Kei Wan Road, in response to the inauguration of a new ferry route between Wan Chai and Jordan Road Ferry Pier by HYF, and also with the intention of augment the then congesting Route 2. The route became the first route CMB started after the Second World War. On 1 August 1954 CMB started a new route with no number between Shau Kei Wan and Chai Wan to serve the new bungalow development area there. At first the new route only serviced during mornings and from noon to evening, but in December service expanded to whole day long. London Buses route 8 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Bow Church and Tottenham Court Road station, it is operated by Stagecoach London. History On 2 November 1908, the bus route number 8 was allocated to a previously un-numbered route operating between the Bush Hotel in Shepherd's Bush and Seven Kings High Road in Ilford. On 20 June 1912, routes 8 and 25 exchanged eastern ends at Bank, so that from then on route 8 operated between Willesden and Old Ford. This situation continued, apart from various westward extensions of the route to Wembley and Alperton, until 18 July 1992. At that time route 8 again was re-routed over route 25, and now operated from Victoria bus station to Bow Church via Old Ford, the same routing as the 1912 version of route 25. Seoul Subway Line 8
Seoul Subway Line 8 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway was built from 1990 to 1999 and mainly serves the southeastern parts of Seoul and Seongnam. The segment from Moran to Amsa was opened in July 1999. The line color is rose. In 2019, Line 8 had an annual ridership of 112 million or about 307,000 people per day. In 2014, construction was planned to begin in order to extend the line north of the Han River through Guri station to Byeollae station on the Gyeongchun Line. The extension will add 11.37 km of line to the already existing 17.7 km. Construction is set to finish in 2023. A further extension two stations north would bring the line to ByeollaeByeolgaram station on Seoul Subway Line 4. The southern end is planned be extended 3.9 km to Pangyo station. Melbourne Tram Route 8
Melbourne tram route 8 was operated by Yarra Trams on the Melbourne tram network from Moreland to Toorak. The 15.7 kilometre route was operated out of Brunswick and Malvern depots with Z, B and D1 class trams. It ceased on 30 April 2017 and was replaced by routes route 6 and route 58. History Route 8 started on 17 October 2004, when the old route 8, which had been running between Melbourne University and Toorak merged with route 22 which had been running between Moreland and Arts Precinct. In February 2015, Yarra Trams released plans to build a centre platform at Toorak, 100 metres west of the existing terminus. The work was completed in December 2015. On 30 April 2017 as part of works associated with the closure of Domain Interchange and construction of Anzac railway station, route 8 ceased.
