Telemundo
Telemundo (; formerly NetSpan) is an American Spanish-language Terrestrial television, terrestrial television network owned by NBCUniversal Television and Streaming#NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, a division of NBCUniversal, which in turn is owned by Comcast. It provides content nationally with programming syndicated worldwide to more than 100 countries in over 35 languages. The network was founded in 1984 as NetSpan before being renamed Telemundo in 1987 after the branding used on WKAQ-TV, its owned-and-operated station in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1997, Liberty Media and Sony Pictures Entertainment acquired controlling interest in Telemundo. NBC then purchased Telemundo in 2001. ''El Nuevo DÃa'' (English: ''The New Day'') is the newspaper with the largest circulation in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1909 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and today it is a subsidiary of GFR Media. Its headquarters are in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. History El Dia El Nuevo DÃa was founded in 1909 in the city of Ponce as "El Diario de Puerto Rico," later changing its name to "El DÃa" in 1911, a name it kept for nearly seven decades. ''Al Rojo Vivo'' (Red Hot) is a Spanish language news program on the American television network Telemundo, which has been broadcast on that network since 2002, replacing the long-running ''Ocurrió AsÃ''. The name derives from the Spanish language expression meaning heated until red hot, the glowing color of an object between about 500 °C and 800 °C. As in English it can be used to indicate intense emotion or a situation ready to be shaped or forged by public opinion. The show is very similar from its Univision competitor, Primer Impacto, featuring a mix of tabloid and entertainment news, sports, weather, and human interest stories.
