List Of Power Stations In Wyoming
This is a list of electricity-generating power stations in the U.S. state of Wyoming, sorted by type and name. In 2021, Wyoming had a total summer capacity of 10,096 MW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 46,017 GWh in 2022. The corresponding electrical energy generation mix was 71.1% coal, 22.1% wind, 4.3% natural gas, 1.9% hydroelectric and 0.5% solar. Small-scale solar which includes customer-owned photovoltaic panels delivered 23 GWh to Wyoming's electrical grid. Wyoming had the smallest population in the U.S. in 2019, and three-fifths of its electricity generation was sent to nearby western states. Simple Cycle Combustion Turbine
A Simple-Cycle Combustion Turbine (SCCT) is a type of gas turbine most frequently used in the power generation, aviation (jet engine), and oil and gas industry (electricity generation and mechanical drives). The simple-cycle combustion turbine follows the Brayton Cycle and differs from a combined cycle operation in that it has only one power cycle (i.e. no provision for waste heat recovery). Old Faithful Historic District
The Old Faithful Historic District in Yellowstone National Park comprises the built-up portion of the Upper Geyser Basin surrounding the Old Faithful Inn and Old Faithful Geyser. It includes the Old Faithful Inn, designed by Robert Reamer and is itself a National Historic Landmark, the upper and lower Hamilton's Stores, the Old Faithful Lodge, designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood, the Old Faithful Snow Lodge, and a variety of supporting buildings. The Old Faithful Historic District itself lies on the 140-mile Grand Loop Road Historic District. A notable missing portion of the district is the Old Faithful Museum of Thermal Activity, which formed part of the trailside museum group that includes the Madison Museum, Norris Museum and Fishing Bridge Museum, all listed as National Historic Landmarks. Teton County is a county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 23,331. Its county seat is Jackson. Grant Village
Grant Village is a developed area of Yellowstone National Park, offering lodging, camping and other visitor services. It is located on the southwest side of Yellowstone Lake, about south of West Thumb Geyser Basin. Grant Village was developed by the National Park Service and concessioners under the Mission 66 program, in an effort to relocate land-consuming visitor services and accommodations away from the park's major attractions and sensitive features. Goshen County is a county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 12,498. Its county seat is Torrington. The eastern boundary of the County borders the Nebraska state line. Goshen County produces more cattle than any other Wyoming county. Combined Cycle Power Plant
A combined cycle power plant is an assembly of heat engines that work in tandem from the same source of heat, converting it into mechanical energy. On land, when used to make electricity the most common type is called a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant. The same principle is also used for marine propulsion, where it is called a combined gas and steam (COGAS) plant. Combining two or more thermodynamic cycles improves overall efficiency, which reduces fuel costs. The principle is that after completing its cycle in the first engine, the working fluid (the exhaust) is still hot enough that a second subsequent heat engine can extract energy from the heat in the exhaust. Usually the heat passes through a heat exchanger so that the two engines can use different working fluids.
