Knave (British Magazine)
''Knave'' magazine was a long-running British adult magazine featuring softcore pornography, published by Galaxy Publications Limited. Originally launched in 1968 by the photographer Russell Gay, it was the upmarket sister publication of '' Fiesta'' magazine. Mary Millington modelled for the magazine in 1974, prior to her exclusive signing to work for David Sullivan's magazines. Along with many other adult magazines, ''Knave'' has published the works of popular authors, including Kim Newman, Dave Langford, and Neil Gaiman. The first issue featured a short story by Ellery Queen. The surrealist artist Penny Slinger appeared in ''Knave'' in 1973 in a photoshoot and interview in which she posed nude with her own artwork. The artist and musician Cosey Fanni Tutti appeared as a ''Knave'' model in 1977, as part of an art project exploring pornography in which she appeared as a model in a number of pornographic magazines. Neil Gaiman's early short stories, including " We Can Get The ...

Gallery (magazine)
''Gallery'' is an adult sex magazine published by Magna Publishing Group. It is one of the more popular "skin" magazines that arose on the ''Playboy'' magazine pattern in the 1970s. Publication history ''Gallery'' was launched by Ronald L. Fenton and trial attorney F. Lee Bailey in Chicago, Illinois. The first issue appeared on newsstands in November, 1972 bearing an uncanny resemblance to ''Playboy'' magazine, even using the same style font for the cover. Many people therefore assumed ''Gallery'' was also published by Hugh Hefner as a companion publication to ''Playboy''. After Hefner sent a letter to Bailey pointing out the magazine's similarities, the layout of ''Gallery'' was quickly changed. Financial difficulties plagued the magazine from the start, causing Bailey to leave during its inaugural year. Following publication of the January 1974 issue, Fenton was forced to forfeit ownership of the magazine to its distributor. Montcalm Publications, based in New York, even ...

Chic (pornographic Magazine)
''Chic'' was an American pornographic magazine first issued by Larry Flynt, of ''Hustler'' fame, in November 1976. The publisher was CHIC Magazine Inc. based in Columbus, Ohio. Intentionally less controversial than ''Hustler'', but similar overall in layout and content, the magazine was an attempt to emulate the more upscale style of rivals such as '' Penthouse'' and '' Oui''. Early issues of ''Chic'' were oversized; the magazine changed to typical smaller dimensions in 1978. In 1979, Flynt went on trial for obscenity charges over eight issues of ''Hustler'' and three issues of ''Chic'' magazine. In 1984, a Texas woman, Jeannie Braun, successfully sued ''Chic'' for publishing a photo of herself and "Ralph the Diving Pig" in the magazine. She had contended that the editor had misrepresented ''Chic'' as a fashion magazine Fashion journalism is a component of fashion media, with a focus on writing and photojournalism. Fashion journalists write about fashion events, trends ...

It is not to be confused with its rival '' Celebrity Sleuth''. The magazine has ceased publication. Lawsuits Over the course of its run, Margot Kidder, Ann-Margret and Barbra Streisand unsuccessfully attempted to sue the magazine after it published nude photos of them. Jennifer Aniston The September 1999 issue of ''Celebrity Skin'' contained photographs of Jennifer Aniston sunbathing topless in her back garden. Beaver Hunt
''Beaver Hunt'' is a pornographic magazine aimed at men and published in the United States. It was first published in 1979 by Larry Flynt. Though the title of the magazine has changed somewhat over the years (''Hustler Beaver Hunt'', ''The Best of Hustler Beaver Hunt'', ''Hustler Best of Beaver Hunt''), several times a year LFP Publishes ''Best of Beaver Hunt'' featuring standout pictorials previously seen in the pages of ''Hustler''. Hustler (magazine)
''Hustler'' is a monthly pornographic magazine published by Larry Flynt Publications (LFP) in the United States. Introduced in 1974, it was a step forward from the '' Hustler Newsletter'', originally conceived by founder Larry Flynt as cheap advertising for his strip club businesses at the time. The magazine grew from an uncertain start to a peak circulation of around 3 million in the early 1980s; it has since dropped to approximately 500,000. ''Hustler'' was among the first major US-based magazines to feature graphic photos of female genitalia and simulated sex acts, in contrast with relatively modest publications such as ''Playboy''. In the 1990s, ''Hustler'', like several of its competitors, began featuring hardcore depictions of sexual penetration and oral sex. Today, ''Hustler'' is still considered more explicit (and more self-consciously lowbrow) than such well-known competitors as ''Playboy'' and '' Penthouse''. ''Hustler'' frequently depicts hardcore themes, such ...

Barely Legal (magazine)
''Barely Legal'' is an adult magazine targeted primarily at heterosexual men. Overview The magazine features explicit photos of naked young women, all of whom are reportedly just over 18 years old. The models are selected and photographed to emphasize their youth. The pictorials do not feature simulated or hardcore sex with men; models either appear by themselves or in groups of two or more women. In each issue, one of the models is singled out as the "''Barely Legal'' Teen Queen of the Month," whose pictorial includes the centerfold. Each pictorial is accompanied by what purports to be a profile of or interview with the model, although a disclaimer in the fine print of each issue's indicia clearly states that this text is fiction and likely has little to no basis in reality. These profiles tend to pander to the readers' fantasies by portraying the models as somewhat naive and sexually inexperienced, but curious and eager to start satisfying their sexual appetites, especially wi ...

Whitehouse (magazine)
''Whitehouse'' magazine, also known as ''Whitehouse International'', was a British pornographic magazine originally published by David Sullivan, and later sold to Gold Star Publications. It was first published in 1974. Billed as "The International Quality Glamour Magazine", it was substantially more explicit than its predecessors, showing uncensored images of genitalia. Although reputed to have been named after anti-pornography campaigner Mary Whitehouse, the magazine contained a disclaimer saying that its name had nothing to do with her. The model Mary Millington made numerous appearances in the magazine. Although ''Whitehouse'' was one of Sullivan's most successful magazines, sales fell over the years. As of 2001, sales had declined to around £250,000 per year. Publication ceased in 2008. The industrial music band Whitehouse Whitehouse may refer to: People * Charles S. Whitehouse (1921-2001), American diplomat * Cornelius Whitehouse (1796–1883), English engineer and ...
