The police are a Law enforcement organization, constituted body of Law enforcement officer, persons empowered by a State (polity), state, with the aim to law enforcement, enforce the law, to ensure the safety, health and possessions of citizens, and to prevent crime and civil disorder. Their lawful powers include arrest and the use of force legitimized by the state via the monopoly on violence. Northern District Police Station
Northern District Police Station is a historic police station located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a complex of interconnected buildings designed in the late Victorian/French Renaissance style consisting of a three-story main station house with a hipped roof and dormers; a connected two story building which had originally housed the cellblock; and a pair of hipped roof garages which were originally used as livery buildings. They are in turn connected to an "L"-shaped building consisting of the original clerestoried stable and flat roofed garage. The buildings encircle a courtyard which is now used as a parking lot. It was designed by Henry F. Brauns in 1899. Quincy Police Station
The Quincy Police Station is located at 1 Sea Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The original three-story yellow brick Classical Revival structure was designed by the local firm of Clark, Batty and Gallagher, and built in 1925 for $75,000. It is the city's first purpose-built police station. It has only modest styling, including brick pilasters separating its window bays, and a simple cornice topped by a parapet which has a raised section containing the city seal. The building has had a modern addition made to it. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Peter Pierce Store
The Peter Pierce Store is a historic commercial building at 99 North Main Street in Middleborough, Massachusetts. The Greek Revival structure was built in 1808 by Colonel Peter Pierce, one of the town's leading businessmen of the mid 19th century. It is presently unoccupied. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Description and history The former Peter Pierce Store occupies a prominent location the center of Middleborough, at the northeast corner of North Main and Jackson Streets. It is a T-shaped wood frame structure, with a two-story central section forming the leg of the T, and single-story flanking sections on either side. The central section is fronted by a monumental four-column Greek Revival portico, the columns supporting an entablature and fully pedimented gable with a semi-oval window at the center. 42nd Precinct / Town Hall Police Station
The 42nd Precinct / Town Hall Police Station, located in Chicago's Lake View community area, is one of the oldest and most architecturally significant extant historic police station buildings in Chicago. It was constructed in 1907 on the site of Lake View Township's Town Hall and subsequently has been commonly referred to as the "Old Town Hall". Only three older police station buildings are extant in Chicago. The 42nd Precinct / Old Town Hall Police Station also is significant as a finely-designed Classical Revival-style police station. The Whittenton Fire and Police Station is a historic fire station and police station located on Bay Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. Built in 1888, it is one two surviving 19th-century Queen Anne-style fire stations in the city. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Description and history The Whittenton Station is located on the east side of Bay Street, a major north-south artery leading north from downtown Taunton, and just north of its junction with East Britannia Street. The Waldo Street Police Station is a historic former police station on Waldo Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built in 1918 to a design by George H. Southern District Police Station
Southern District Police Station is a historic police station located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a monumental Romanesque Revival steel-framed building faced in stone and brick constructed in 1896. The station is composed of a three-story cubic main block, a two-story rear ell, and two additions built in the 1950s that fill most of the remainder of the corner lot. The building remained in use by the Baltimore Police Department until the mid-1980s, when it was sold to a local non-profit group.
