Guntur () is a city and the administrative headquarters of Guntur district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Guntur is spread across 168.49 km square and is the third-largest city in the state. Gummadi Venkateswara Rao (9 July 1927 – 26 January 2010), known Mononym, mononymously by his surname Gummadi, was an Indian actor and producer, who worked predominantly in Telugu cinema and a few Tamil films. Known as one of the finest method acting, method actors, Gummadi starred in around five hundred feature films. He received critical recognition for his work in ''Thodu Dongalu (1954 film), Thodu Dongalu'' (1954) and ''Mahamantri Timmarusu (film), Mahamantri Timmarusu'' (1962), for which he has received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Award. Kotha Raghuramaiah
Kotha Raghuramaiah (1912 –1979) was an Indian politician who served as a Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. Family Raghuramaiah was born on 6 August 1912 to Kotha Jagannadham and Kotamma in Sangam Jagarlamudi in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, South India. He had two brothers and six sisters. He married Suguna Jampala in 1936. Later, he was married to Lakshmi Raghuramaiah on 3 July 1937. Education Raghuramaiah was educated at Andhra Christian College, Guntur and Lucknow University. He studied Bar-at-Law from Middle Temple in United Kingdom. He was awarded gold medal in the All India Inter-University Oratorical Contest (English) held at Lucknow, 1932–33. He was conferred Doctorate Degrees by Andhra University in 1975 and by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in January 1977. Konijeti Rosaiah (4 July 1933 – 4 December 2021) was an Indian politician who served as the List of chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, 15th chief minister of United Andhra Pradesh from 2009 to 2010. He also served as the Governor of Karnataka, Governor of Tamil Nadu from 2011 to 2016 and the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Governor of Karnataka (additional charge) for two months. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (28 July 1909 – 20 May 1994) was the Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, India, from 29 February 1964 to 30 September 1971. On 3 June 1977, he was elected president of the Indian National Congress. Early life Kasu Brahmananda Reddy was born in Tubadu in Guntur District, British India(now in Andhra Pradesh, India). Bhavanam Venkatarami Reddy
Bhavanam Venkatrami Reddy (18 July 1931 – 7 April 2002) was the chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) between February 1982 and September 1982. He was a member of the Congress party and served as cabinet minister in various AP governments. His active carrier in politics started in 1970s. He started his political career as a Youth Congress activist. From there he reached the position of Member of Legislative Assembly later became education minister in Chenna Reddy's cabinet in 1978. He also served in the cabinet of Tanguturi Anjaiah before becoming chief minister on 24 February 1982. He only served as the chief minister for a brief period, until 19 September 1982, representing Indian National Congress. He died on 7 April 2002 after brief illness. Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu
Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu (23 August 1872 – 20 May 1957) was an Indian jurist, political leader, social reformer, and anti-colonial nationalist who served as the chief minister of the Madras Presidency. Prakasam subsequently became the first chief minister of the erstwhile Andhra State, created by the partition of Madras State along the linguistic lines. Prakasam was known as "Andhra Kesari" which translates to "Lion of Andhra". The Andhra Pradesh government issued G.O RT-2500 on 10 August 2014 declaring his birth anniversary a State holiday.
