Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana
The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). During the following years, most of the remaining Italian record labels left AFI to join the new organisation. As of 2011, FIMI represents 2,500 companies operating in the music business. FIMI is a member of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and of the Italian employers' federation, Confindustria. Its main purpose is to protect the interests of the Italian record industry. Starting in March 1995, the Italian Music Industry Federation began providing the Italian official albums chart. Colapesce (singer)
Lorenzo Urciullo (born 6 September 1983), known professionally as Colapesce, is an Italian singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Solarino, Urciullo graduated in Communication Sciences at the University of Catania. He started his career as frontman of the indie rock group Albanopower and part of the musical project Santiago. In 2010 he adopted the stage name Colapesce, inspired by a traditional local mith about a legendary fisherman who holds Sicily on his shoulders to prevent it from sinking, and released the EP ''Colapesce''. His 2012 debut album ''Un meraviglioso declino'' included duets with Roy Paci and Meg from 99 Posse, received critical acclaim and got him a Targa Tenco for best debut work. Caparezza ( or ; meaning "Curly Head" in the Molfetta dialect) is the pseudonym of Michele Salvemini (born 9 October 1973), an Italian rapper. Born in Molfetta, in the southern region of Apulia, Caparezza debuted in 1997 at the Sanremo Festival under the name Mikimix. Biography Caparezza was born in Molfetta on October 9, 1973. Caparezza's mother was a teacher and his father was a worker and former musician, so Michele started playing music as a child. He studied accounting, although he dreamed of writing comics. ''Taxi Driver'' is the third studio album by Italian recording artist Rkomi, released by Island Records on 30 April 2021. The album was titled after Martin Scorsese's 1976 film, which is also cited in its artwork, showing Rkomi leaning on a yellow cab. Mirko Manuele Martorana (born 19 April 1994), known professionally as Rkomi, is an Italian rapper and songwriter. Early life Rkomi was born and raised in Milan in the famous district of Calvairate, located in the eastern part of the suburbs of Milan. He attended the CFP Galdus hotel Institute until the third year, and then dropped out at the age of 17 without obtaining a diploma. Until the age of 21 he worked as a bartender, bricklayer and dishwasher. He became friends with rapper Tedua, who was his roommate. Tedua himself originally planned to become a tour manager. Francesco Bertollini (born 4 July 1992), better known as Franco126, is an Italian singer-songwriter. He rose to fame in 2017, as part of the duo Carl Brave x Franco126, with the album ''Polaroid''. Two years later, he released his first solo studio album, ''Stanza singola'', which includes the single with the same title, recorded as a duet with Tommaso Paradiso. The album entered the top ten in Italy and was certified platinum by FIMI. Franco126's second studio set, ''Multisala'', became his first number-one album in May 2021.
