News Presenter
A news presenter – also known as a newsreader, newscaster (short for "news broadcaster"), anchorman or anchorwoman, news anchor or simply an anchor – is a person who presents news during a news program on TV, radio or the Internet. They may also be a working journalist, assisting in the collection of news material and may, in addition, provide commentary during the program. News presenters most often work from a television studio or radio studio, but may also present the news from remote locations in the field related to a particular major news event. Nightline
''Nightline'' (or ''ABC News Nightline'') is ABC News' late-night television news program broadcast on ABC in the United States with a franchised formula to other networks and stations elsewhere in the world. Created by Roone Arledge, the program featured Ted Koppel as its main anchor from March 1980 until his retirement in November 2005. Its current, rotating anchors are Byron Pitts and Juju Chang. ''Nightline'' airs weeknights from 12:37 to 1:07 a.m., Eastern Time, after ''Jimmy Kimmel Live!'', which had served as the program's lead-out from 2003 to 2012. In 2002, ''Nightline'' was ranked 23rd on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time. Sandra Bookman
Sandra Bookman (born October 8, 1959 in Beaumont, Texas) is an American television news reporter and weekend anchor. She is currently a reporter and anchor at WABC-TV in New York City. She co-anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. weekend editions of Eyewitness News. She joined the station in 1998 from WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked as weekend anchor and reporter from 1989 to 1998. She was previously weekend anchor at both Raleigh, North Carolina's WRAL-TV and in Beaumont, Texas' KFDM. She has won three Emmy Awards for her reporting including Olympic Coverage and the aftermath of Valuejet Airlines Crash in the Everglades. Bookman was an Olympic Reporter for ABC News for seven years and was the only Atlanta based reporter to cover the games from Atlanta before the bid and until the Olympic bombing in 1996. KABC-TV (channel 7) is a television station in Los Angeles, California, United States, serving as the West Coast flagship of the ABC network. Owned and operated by the network's ABC Owned Television Stations division, the station maintains studios in the Grand Central Business Centre of Glendale, and its transmitter is located on Mount Wilson. History Channel 7 first signed on the air under the call sign KECA-TV on September 16, 1949. It was the last television station licensed to Los Angeles operating on the VHF band to debut and the last of ABC's five original owned-and-operated stations to make its debut, after San Francisco's KGO-TV, which signed on four months earlier. WXYZ-TV
WXYZ-TV (channel 7) is a television station in Detroit, Detroit, Michigan, United States, affiliated with American Broadcasting Company, ABC. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside Independent station (North America), independent station WMYD (channel 20). Both stations share studios at Broadcast House on 10 Mile Road in Southfield, Michigan, Southfield, where WXYZ-TV's transmitter is also located. However, master control and some internal operations are based at the studios of sister station and fellow ABC affiliate WRTV in Indianapolis. Bill Bonds
Bill Bonds (February 23, 1932 – December 13, 2014) was an American television news anchor and reporter, best known for his work at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan. Bonds became an Action News anchorman beginning in the early 1970s. Early career He was born on February 23, 1932. A native of Detroit, Michigan, and a graduate of the University of Detroit, Bonds was initially a reporter for the city's Contact News on WKNR-AM, known as Keener 13. He was also a reporter for several Michigan radio stations including WCAR, WPON and WQTE. Bonds joined WXYZ in 1964 as a part-time booth announcer. He worked his way up to the anchor desk with Barney Morris. He covered the 1967 Detroit riots. David Bloom
David Jerome Bloom (May 22, 1963 – April 6, 2003) was an American television journalist (co-anchor of ''Weekend Today'' and reporter) until his sudden death in 2003 after a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) became a pulmonary embolism. Early and personal life David Bloom was born in Edina, Minnesota, the son of Laura Jean (née Carmichael) and Harold James Bloom. He was an avid ice hockey player and state champion in high school debating in the National Forensic League. Bloom attended Pitzer College in Claremont, California, from 1981 to 1983, where he majored in political science. In 1985, Bloom was ranked top in the nation for intercollegiate policy debate. He and his partner, Greg Mastel, were ranked the top debate team in the nation before entering the National Debate Tournament of 1985. They lost in quarter finals to Loyola Marymount. Wolf Isaac Blitzer (born March 22, 1948) is an American journalist, television news anchor, and author who has been a CNN reporter since 1990, and who currently serves as one of the principal anchors at the network. He is the host of ''The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer'' and until 2021, served as the network's lead political anchor. Early life Blitzer was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany near Munich in 1948, during post-World War II Allied occupation the son of Cesia Blitzer (née Zylberfuden), a homemaker, and David Blitzer, a home builder. Bill Beutel
William Charles Beutel (December 12, 1930 – March 18, 2006) was an American television reporter, journalist, and anchor. He was best known for working over four decades with the American Broadcasting Company, spending much of that time anchoring Eyewitness News for WABC-TV in New York City. He also was an ABC radio network newscaster before ABC Radio's split into 4 networks on January 1, 1968. After the split he reported on the American Contemporary Network and occasionally substituted for Paul Harvey, while his Eyewitness News partner Roger Grimsby did a daily weekday afternoon radio newscast on the American Entertainment Network. Early life and career After a stint in the Army, Beutel graduated from Dartmouth College and then studied law at the University of Michigan Law School, though he left without obtaining his degree.
