Jordan Museum
The Jordan Museum is located in Ras Al-Ein district of Amman, Jordan. Built in 2014, the museum is the largest museum in Jordan and hosts the country's most important archaeological findings. Its two main permanent exhibitions are the Dead Sea Scrolls, including the Copper Scroll, and the 9000-year-old ʿAin Ghazal statues, which are among the oldest human statues ever made. The museum presents artifacts from various prehistoric archaeological sites in Jordan. The collections in the museum are arranged in chronological order and also features lecture halls, outdoor exhibitions, a library, a conservation centre and an area for children's activities. The museum was established by a committee headed by Queen Rania, which became the only museum in Jordan to implement modern artifact-preserving technologies. The Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth (Arabic: متحف أخفض مكان على الأرض) is a museum located in the Ghor es-Safi, Jordan. The museum is dedicated to displaying different historical artifacts and archaeological remains. History The idea with the creation of the museum dates back to the 1990s, the idea was proposed by Konstantinos Politis and the Jordanian Department of Antiquities after excavations in Jordan. The Arab Potash Company originally financed the construction of the museum in 1996. The Arab Potash Company asked George Hakim to design the museum building. In 2004, the government of Jordan financed the construction. In 2006, the museum building was completed. In 2007, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan contacted the Hellenic Society for Near Eastern Studies to complete the design of some of the museum's exhibits. Aqaba Archaeological Museum ( ar, متحف آثار العقبة, Matḥaf ʾĀthār al-ʿAqaba) is the official archaeological museum of the city of Aqaba in Jordan. Location The museum is located in the historical part of Aqaba, adjacent to the historic fort of Aqaba and near the Aqaba Flagpole. Collection The museum houses Bronze Age artifacts that were recently discovered in the Tall Hujayrat Al-Ghuzlan archaeological site near Aqaba, dating back to 4000 BC. The Prophet Muhammad Museum ( ar, متحف النبي محمد) is a museum about Muhammad in Amman, Jordan. The museum was opened on 15 May 2012 at the King Hussein Mosque in Al Hussein Public Parks in Amman, with King Abdullah II of Jordan officiating. The museum includes some of Muhammad's belongings, including a single hair from his beard and his letter to the emperor of Byzantium, in which he urged him to convert to Islam. It also includes a sapling of the tree under which Muhammad rested on his way to the Levant for trade in the pre-Islamic era. The tree is located in the badia region.
