Chilean National Museum Of Fine Arts
The Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts ( es, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes or ), located in Santiago, Chile, is one of the major centers for Chilean art and for broader South American art. Established in 1880 (making it the oldest in South America), the organization is managed by the Artistic Union (). The current building, the Palace of the Fine Arts (), dates to 1910 and commemorates the first centennial of the Independence of Chile. It was designed by the Chilean architect Emile Jéquier in a full-blown Beaux-arts style and is situated in the Parque Forestal of Santiago. Palacio Baburizza
Palacio Baburizza is the former residence of Croatian businessman Pascual Baburizza located in Valparaíso, Chile. It was built in 1916 by Italian architects, and eventually turned into a museum in 1971, and declared a historic monument in 1976. History Palacio Baburizza was built upon request from one of the most important families of Valparaiso, the Zanelli family. It was purchased in 1925 by Pascual Baburizza, a distinguished investor in saltpeter mines who managed to have an important fortune in Chile, which was largely devoted to philanthropic works. In 1971, the palace was bought by the local government of Valparaiso to be used as a museum and a school of Fine Arts. Today, it gathers an important collection of works; many of these bequeathed by Pascual Baburizza. Open Air Museum Viña Del Mar
Open Air Museum Viña del Mar ( es, Museo al Aire Libre de Viña del Mar) is an open-air art museum located near Recreo, Viña del Mar, Chile, near the city of Valparaíso. The museum called, "Walls watching the sea", is focused on reproductions of Chilean Modern art executed by Claudio Francia Willms. Myriam Parra Vásquez is the curator of the museum. The work has the support of the Regional Government of Valparaíso. It is a project of the Association of Neighborhood Councils of Recreo, administered by the non-profit organization Fundación Tempestad. Casa de Isla Negra was one of Pablo Neruda's three houses in Chile. It is located at Isla Negra, a coastal area of El Quisco commune, located about 45 km south of Valparaíso and 96 km west of Santiago. It was his favourite house and where he and his third wife, Matilde Urrutia, spent the majority of their time in Chile. Neruda, a lover of the sea and all things maritime, built the home to resemble a ship with low ceilings, creaking wood floors and narrow passageways.
