Trenčín Region
The Trenčín Region ( sk, Trenčiansky kraj, ; cs, Trenčínský kraj; hu, Trencséni kerület) is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions. It consists of 9 districts ('' okresy''). The region was established in 1996: previously it had been a part of West-Slovak region (Západoslovenský kraj) and partly central Slovak region (Stredoslovenský kraj). Industry is a main branch of region economy. Geography It is located in the north-western Slovakia, has an area of 4,502 km² and a population of 600,386 (2005). The Danubian Lowland reaches the region to Nové Mesto nad Váhom and Partizánske areas. Babiná
Babiná (german: Frauenstuhl; hu, Bábaszék) is a village and municipality of the Zvolen District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia History In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1254. In 1270 German colonists settled here. It belonged to Dobrá Niva. in the 16th century it had to pay tributes to Turks. In the 17th century, it belonged to the Esterházy family. Báb, Nitra District
Báb is a village and municipality in the Nitra District in western central Slovakia, in the Nitra Region. History The village was created in 1955 from the merger of two formerly independent villages, ''Malý Báb'' and ''Velký Báb''. Veľký Báb was first mentioned in historical records in 1156 and Malý Báb in 1365. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 150 metres and covers an area of 20.091 km². It is located approximately 16 km west of Nitra. Ethnicity The village is approximately 99% Slovak. Facilities The village has a public library, a gym, and a football pitch. Košice Region
The Košice Region ( sk, Košický kraj, , hu, Kassai kerület; uk, Кошицький край) is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions. The region was first established in 1923 and its present borders were established in 1996. It consists of 11 districts ( okresy) and 440 municipalities, 17 of which have a town status. Andrejová ( rue, Андріёва, uk, Андрійова, hu, Endrevágása) is a village and municipality in Bardejov District in the Prešov Region of Slovakia. The predominant religion is the Greek Catholic Church with 4.9% Eastern Orthodox. The Catholic Church of Virgin Mary the Protectrice of 1893 can be found in the village.
