A municipal district (MD) is the most common form of all rural municipality statuses used in the Canadian province of Alberta. Alberta's municipal districts, most of which are branded as a county (e.g. Yellowhead County, County of Newell, etc.), are predominantly rural areas that may include either farmland, Crown land or a combination of both depending on their geographic location. They may also include country residential subdivisions and unincorporated communities, some of which are recognized as hamlets by Alberta Municipal Affairs. Worsley, Alberta
Worsley is a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada within Clear Hills County. It is located in the Peace Country, at the northern end of Highway 726, approximately north of Highway 64, northwest of Hines Creek and east of the British Columbia border. It lies at an elevation of amidst prairie farmland and ranchland. It was named after Erick Worsley, a British Cavalry Officer and fur trader who arrived in the area in the 1930. Wanham, Alberta
Wanham () is a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada within Birch Hills County. It is located east of Rycroft along Highway 49 and approximately north of Grande Prairie, in the farmlands of Peace River Country. Saddle River, a tributary of Peace River, flows immediately north of the community. The origin of the name Wanham could have come from Wanham in England. The local economy is based on agriculture and ranching, the settlement being an agricultural service centre for the surrounding farms. A wood products plant, Newpro, was previously the largest employer in the settlement. It was announced it was closing in January 2006. Exshaw is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada within Municipal District (MD) of Bighorn No. 8. Located approximately west of downtown Calgary and east of Canmore, Exshaw is situated within the Bow River valley north of the Bow River.
