List Of Mountains Of Nidwalden
This is a list of mountains of the Swiss canton of Nidwalden. The list only includes significant summits with a topographic prominence of at least . There are 18 such summits in Nidwalden and they are found in almost all its municipalities. Topographically, the three most important summits of the canton are those of the Rotstöckli (most elevated), the Bürgenstock (most prominent) and Pilatus (most isolated). Stanserhorn
The Stanserhorn is a mountain in Switzerland, located in the canton of Nidwalden near to the border with Obwalden, with the peak at above sea level. It is a popular tourist destination, which can be reached from the adjacent town of Stans by a funicular railway and cable car, or via walking routes from Stans or Dallenwil. History The first public transport route to the peak was started in 1891 and completed in 1893, a three section funicular railway. Emmental Alps
The Emmental Alps (german: Emmentaler Alpen) are a mountain range in the western part of the Alps, in Switzerland. They are located north-west of the Brünig Pass, mainly in the cantons of Lucerne, Bern, and Obwalden, with a small portion in the canton of Nidwalden. The highest summit of the range is the Brienzer Rothorn, which is also the highest point in the canton of Lucerne. The range is named after the Emme valley (German: Emmental).
