List Of Marine Molluscs Of Brazil
The list of marine molluscs of Brazil is a partial list of saltwater species that form a part of the molluscan fauna of Brazil. This list does not include the land or freshwater molluscs. Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Brazil has a coastline of 7,491 kilometers (4,655 mi), where most species listed herein can be found. Mollusc
Mollusca is the second-largest phylum of invertebrate animals after the Arthropoda, the members of which are known as molluscs or mollusks (). Around 85,000  extant species of molluscs are recognized. The number of fossil species is estimated between 60,000 and 100,000 additional species. The proportion of undescribed species is very high. Many taxa remain poorly studied. Molluscs are the largest marine phylum, comprising about 23% of all the named marine organisms. Numerous molluscs also live in freshwater and terrestrial habitats. They are highly diverse, not just in size and anatomical structure, but also in behaviour and habitat. The phylum is typically divided into 7 or 8 taxonomic classes, of which two are entirely extinct. Cephalopod molluscs, such as squid, cuttlefish, and octopuses, are among the most neurologically advanced of all invertebrates—and either the giant squid or the colossal squid is the largest known invertebrate species. The gastropods ...

Aplysia Dactylomela
''Aplysia dactylomela'', the spotted sea hare, is a species of large sea slug, a marine opisthobranch gastropod in the family Aplysiidae, the sea hares. Distribution and taxonomy As traditionally defined, this species of sea hare was cosmopolitan, being found in almost all tropical and warm temperate seas,Alexander, and Valdés (2013). ''The ring doesn’t mean a thing: Molecular data suggests a new taxonomy for two Pacific species of sea hares (Mollusca, Opisthobranchia, Aplysiidae).'' Pacific Science 67: 283–294. including the Mediterranean Sea where first seen in 2002 and likely self-established due to increasing temperatures.Valdés, Alexander, Crocetta, Yokeş, Giacobbe, Poursanidis, Zenetos, Cervera, Caballer, Galil, and Schembri (2013). Solatisonax Cabrali
''Solatisonax cabrali'' is a species of deep-water sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Architectonicidae, the staircase shells or sundials. Taxonomy The description of ''Solatisonax cabrali'' by Tenório and colleagues, in 2011, was initially based on four young and eroded juvenile shells. The subsequent discovery of two well-preserved empty shells from southeastern Brazil (a juvenile and an adult specimen) brought new information on the species' distribution, ontogeny and morphology, which culminated in a redescription by Cavallari and colleagues in 2013. A few mix-ups involving type specimen figuration and measurements in the original description were also stressed and rectified in the redescription. ''S. cabrali'' was named after Brazilian government employee Enilson Cabral, an analyst of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources ( IBAMA) responsible for collecting the materials used in Tenório's study. Description ''Solatisonax c ...
