List Of Magazines In Malaysia
The following is an incomplete list of current and defunct magazines published in Malaysia. They may be published in Malay language, Malay or in other languages, including English language, English and Chinese language, Chinese. Women's magazine, comic magazines, film magazines and others are common in Malaysia. The first women's magazine was published in Malaysia in 1932. In the 2000s there were nearly fifty local titles addressing women in the country. These magazines also include those having an Islamic perspective. Some international women's magazines are also published in Malaysia. One of them is ''Elle Malaysia'', which was first published in March 2014. Another one, ''Women's Health (magazine), Women’s Health'', was started in April 2015. ''The Rocket'' is a monthly political news magazine published in Malaysia. Founded in 1966, it is one of the oldest magazines in the country. Subtitled as "From Malaysians for Malaysians", it is also one of the alternative media outlets of Malaysia. History and profile ''The Rocket'' was founded in 1966. The magazine is affiliated with Democratic Action Party. Although it was started as a publication aimed at the general public, the Malaysian government restricted its sale to party members, because one of the major funds for the party was revenue from sales of ''The Rocket''. ''Nüyou'' ( zh, c=女友, l=Female Friend) is a bilingual (English and Chinese) monthly fashion and beauty magazine targeting women. The magazine is based in Singapore. History and profile ''Nüyou'' was started in 1976. The magazine is part of SPH Magazines and is published on a monthly basis. It covers articles about fashion, beauty tips and celebrities and targets women between the ages of 25 and 30 years-old. The magazine is published in English and Chinese language, Chinese languages. In April 2013 Terence Lee became the editor-in-chief of ''Nüyou''. He replaced Grace Lee in the aforementioned post. In 2009 ''Nüyou'' was redesigned. The magazine had a Malaysian edition which was belong to Blu Inc Media Sdn Bhd. ''Nona'' is a women's magazine published in Malaysia. It has been published monthly in the Malay language by Shah Alam-based Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Sdn Bhd (Karangkraf) since November 1986. The magazine's tagline is ''"Realiti Impian Wanita"'', literally meaning the 'Reality of Women's Dream'. Beside its print version, Nona has been published digitally online since 2012.
