Cheyenne River Indian Reservation
The Cheyenne River Indian Reservation was created by the United States in 1889 by breaking up the Great Sioux Reservation, following the attrition of the Lakota in a series of wars in the 1870s. The reservation covers almost all of Dewey and Ziebach counties in South Dakota. In addition, many small parcels of off-reservation trust land are located in Stanley, Haakon, and Meade counties. The total land area is 4,266.987 sq mi (11,051.447 km²), making it the fourth-largest Indian reservation in land area in the United States. Petroleum County is a county in the U.S. state of Montana. As of the 2020 census, the population was 496, making it the least populous county in Montana and the eighth-least populous in the United States. Its county seat is Winnett. The county's area was partitioned from Fergus County to become the last of Montana's 56 counties to be organized. McRae Correctional Institution
McRae Correctional Facility is a privately managed, low-security prison for men, owned and operated by the CoreCivic since 2000 under contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for federal prisoners. The maximum capacity of the prison is 2275. It stands in McRae-Helena, Telfair County, Georgia. In 2014 Azadeh N. Shahshahani of the ACLU of Georgia reported that McRae and another private federal prison in Georgia showed "a record of violations of constitutional and Bureau of Prisons standards governing the medical treatment of prisoners" and other issues.
