La Ceiba
La Ceiba () is a municipality, the capital of the Honduran department of Atlántida (department), Atlántida and a port city on the northern coast of Honduras in Central America. It is located on the southern edge of the Caribbean, forming part of the south eastern boundary of the Gulf of Honduras. Luis Arturo Mondragón (died June 14, 2010) was a Honduran journalist who worked as the news director for Chanel 19 Honduras in El Paraíso, Honduras. Mondragon was shot and killed while sitting with his son outside their home in Danlí, Honduras, on June 14, 2010. He was the ninth journalist or media professional to be killed in Honduras in 2010. Mondragón had been the subject of threats relating to investigative reporting against corruption by local and national politicians. A series of disputes, as well as allegations of rape and cattle theft had been leveled against Mondragón before his murder. Cortés Department
Cortés is one of the 18 departments of Honduras. The department covers an area of 3,954 km² and, in 2015, had an estimated population of 1,612,762, making it the most populous in Honduras. The Merendón Mountains rise in western Cortés, but the department is mostly a tropical lowland, the Sula Valley, crossed by the Ulúa and Chamelecon rivers. Jorge Alberto "Georgino" Orellana (February 14, 1960 – April 20, 2010) was a Honduran journalist, television producer and presenter for Televisión de Honduras, a private television station. Orellana was shot and killed on April 20, 2010, becoming the sixth Honduran journalist to be killed in the country since March 1, 2010. In addition to his television work, Orellana was a journalism professor at the National Autonomous University of Honduras in San Pedro Sula. He was previously employed by the Prensa newspaper and Televicentro, one Honduras' largest television networks. Olancho is the largest of all the 18 departments into which Honduras is divided. The department covers a total surface area of 24,057 km² and has an estimated 2015 population of 537,306 inhabitants. The departmental capital is Juticalpa, which is also the see of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Juticalpa, which covers the department. Juticalpa () is the capital of Olancho Department in Honduras, with a population of 69,850 (2020 calculation), and the municipal seat of Juticalpa Municipality. Situated in a broad river valley alongside the Rio Juticalpa, the town is a commercial centre for much of Olancho's ranching and agricultural economy.
