Most of these awards require a mastery of Scoutcraft and leadership and the performance of community service—only a small percentage of Scouts attain these awards. Many European nations do not have a rank system to avoid appearance of militarism. Prathibha DeviSingh Patil (born 19 December 1934) is an Indian politician and lawyer who served as the 12th president of India spanning from 2007 to 2012. She is the first woman to become the president of India. A member of the Indian National Congress, she previously served as the Governor of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2007, and was a member of Lok Sabha from 1991 to 1996. Early life Patil was born in a Marathi family on 19 December 1934 in the British Raj Indian village of Nadgaon of Jalgaon of Maharashtra, India. She is the daughter of Narayan Rao Patil. Baden-Powell Award
The Baden-Powell Award, also known as the B-P Award or Baden-Powell Scout Award (BPSA), is the highest award achievable to Rover Scout, Rover (adult) Scouts. Although it has become a less common award as some Scout Associations no longer offer a Rover program, it is still awarded in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, and in Traditional Scouting organizations in the United Kingdom and the United States. The Scout Association Of Hong Kong
The Scout Association of Hong Kong is the largest scouting organisation in Hong Kong. Scout training was first introduced in Hong Kong in 1909 and 1910 by the Protestant based Boys' Brigade, Chums Scout Patrols and British Boy Scouts. The Catholic St. Joseph's College, formed its Boy Scout Troop in 1913, and registered with the Boy Scouts Association of the United Kingdom in 1914. The Boy Scouts Association formed its Hong Kong Local Association in July 1915 which became its Hong Kong Branch. After changes to the name of the United Kingdom organisation in 1967, the branch name was changed to The Scout Association Hong Kong Branch. The Scouts of China or the General Association of the Scouts of China in full, is the national Scouting association of the Republic of China and represents the Scouting organization in Taiwan. Medal Of The Maple
The Medal of the Maple is a service award presented to youth members of Scouts Canada to honour those youth who have significantly contributed to the Movement and the spirit of Scouting through community service, extraordinary Scouting participation and a solid system of personal values. Currently it is the only service award presented solely to youth. Background The Medal of the Maple was created in 2007 by the National Youth Network to celebrate the centennial of scouting in Canada. It is awarded annually to any number of youth that are accepted. Rambler Badge
The Rambler Badge is an award of the Rovers section of Scouts Canada. It is one of the few Rover merit badges, and the highest non-yearly award a Rover can receive. Amory Adventure Award
The Amory Adventure Award is an award in the Canadian Venturer program. Unlike all other awards and badges, for example the Queen's Venturer Award, the Amory Award is only granted to one Venturer company each year. All Venturers who take part in an Amory Award expedition (whether or not they are members of the winning company) receive a participation badge to wear on the uniform. The first-place company's name is recorded on the Amory Adventure Trophy, which the company may keep for nine months. Companies that place first, second, and third each receive a trophy of their own to keep.
