Whitemantle Range
The Whitemantle Range is a subrange of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia. Located between the heads of Bute Inlet on the east and Knight Inlet on the west, it is extremely rugged and glaciated. Its highest summit is Whitemantle Mountain 2985 m (9793 ft). The range is approximately 3400 km2 (1310 sq mi) in area and just south of the much higher and even more rugged Waddington Range, which is the highest part of the Pacific Ranges and also of the Coast Mountains. East across the canyon-valley of the Homathko River is the Homathko Icefield The Homathko Icefield is an icefield in British Columbia, Canada. Pantheon Range
The Pantheon Range is a subrange of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia. It is located between the edge of the Chilcotin Plateau at Tatla Lake on its northeast and the Klinaklini River on its west, with a southeastern boundary along Mosley Creek, a major tributary of the Homathko River. The range is 5550 km2 (2150 sq mi) in area and extremely rugged, with many sharp, glaciated peaks. As is shown in the Canadian Mountain Encyclopedia map, the Pantheon Range is north of the Waddington and Niut Ranges, which corresponds with the official 1:50,000 maps. The range's highest summits are Mount Vishnu 3008 m (9869 ft), Mount Astarte 2959 m (9708 ft) and Mount Zeus 2982 m (9783 ft). Most of the range's peaks have names of gods or other deities, e.g. Thoth, Hermes, Polyphemus, etc. - hence the name. Immediately south of the Pantheon Range is the much higher Waddington Range, home to the highest peak in the Coast Mountains ...

Waddington Range
The Waddington Range is a subrange of the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is only about 4,000 km2 (1,545 sq mi) in area, relatively small in area within the expanse of the range, but it is the highest area of the Pacific Ranges and of the Coast Mountains, being crowned by its namesake Mount Waddington 4,019 m (13,186 ft). The Waddington Range is also extremely rugged and more a complex of peaks than a single icefield, in contrast to the other huge icefield-massifs of the southern Coast Mountains, which are not so peak-studded and tend to have more contiguous icemasses. History The difficulty of access to the core of the massif delayed actual sighting, measurement and climbing of Mount Waddington until 1936; it had only been espied from Vancouver Island by climbers in the 1930s and was at first referred to as Mystery Mountain - because its existence until then had been unknown. Apparently even in First Nations l ...

The southern half of the icefield is named the Silverthrone Glacier and flows west, joining the Klinaklini Glacier just above that glacier's terminus, where its outflow is short but very large, and joins the Klinaklini River within a few kilometres. The Klinaklini Glacier constitutes the northern half of the icefield, and off its northwest edge a glacial tongue produces the head of the Machmell River. The name Ha-Iltzuk Icefield does not appear in government gazettes. The term is almost certainly a ...

Cambria Icefield
The Cambria Icefield is an icefield in the Boundary Ranges of the Coast Mountains in northwestern British Columbia, Canada, located southeast of Stewart. Climate Based on the Köppen climate classification, the Cambria Icefield is located in a subarctic climate zone of western North America. Most weather fronts originate in the Pacific Ocean, and travel east toward the Coast Mountains where they are forced upward by the range (Orographic lift), causing them to drop their moisture in the form of rain or snowfall. As a result, the icefield experiences high precipitation, especially during the winter months in the form of snowfall. Temperatures can drop below −20 °C with wind chill factors below −30 °C.
