Garage Rock
Garage rock (sometimes called garage punk or 60s punk) is a raw and energetic style of rock and roll that flourished in the mid-1960s, most notably in the United States and Canada, and has experienced a series of subsequent revivals. The style is characterized by basic chord (music), chord structures played on electric guitars and other instruments, sometimes distorted through a distortion (music), fuzzbox, as well as often unsophisticated and occasionally aggressive lyrics and delivery. Its name derives from the perception that groups were often made up of young amateurs who rehearsed in the family Garage (residential), garage, although many were professional. In the US and Canada, surf rock—and later the Beatles and other beat music, beat groups of the British Invasion—motivated thousands of young people to form bands between 1963 and 1968. Hundreds of acts produced regional hits, and some had national hits, usually played on AM radio stations. With the advent of psyc ...

Fort Worth Teen Scene! (series)
''Fort Worth Teen Scene!'' is an extensive compilation album series centering on the burgeoning teen garage rock music scene of Fort Worth, Texas between 1964 and 1967. The series, distributed through Norton Records, helped reveal relatively unknown recordings by groups originating from Fort Worth that were previously made available to only a handful of collectors. In total, three albums were released in relation to the series in 2004. The Fort Worth teen scene emerged from the wake of the British Invasion, with nearly all the bands from the region tended to take influence from the harder-edged R&B and blues rock music of the Rolling Stones and the Yardbirds. These two musical acts' styles were emulated throughout the series on "one-take" recordings, which also mixed in a sizable share of cover versions such as two different interpretations of " Mister, You're a Better Man Than I" and " Train Kept A-Rollin'". Typical of most garage rock musical artists of the era, Fort Worth' ...

The Midnite Sound Of The Milky Way
''The Midnite Sound of the Milky Way'' is a garage rock compilation available on compact disc put out by Big Beat Records (UK) that consists of songs recorded at the Midnite Sound recording studio in Danville, Illinois during the 1960s. The Midnite Sound studio one of many such venues pushing out obscure garage rock in the mid-1960s. The set was compiled by Alec Palao, who also wrote the liner notes. The compilation features twenty four tracks by different various artists who recorded there, and all except four have not been previously compiled. The Midnite Sound recording were often typified by an echo-laden sound, giving them a characteristically "outer space" vibe. The performers tended to be, even by 1960s garage rock norms, untutored and naively strange and noncommercial racket. The groups and artists who recorded at Midnite Sound tended to be less British Invasion-influenced than most, sometimes displaying rockabilly and pre-Beatles stylistics. The best-known act to re ...

Last Of The Garage Punk Unknowns
''Last of the Garage Punk Unknowns'' is a series compilation albums of 1960s garage rock created and compiled by Tim Warren and released by Crypt Records in 2015 and 2016. The series consists of a total of eight LP's (volumes 1 through 8) and four CD's which each combine each of the corresponding LP's onto one compact disc (volumes 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, and 7&8). Like Crypt Records' ''Back from the Grave'' series, the ''Last of the Garage Punk Unknowns'' entries include the raw and aggressive numbers characterized by the use of fuzztone-distorted guitars and rough vocals, yet the songs tend to be more melodic and inclusive of the diversity of the genre. As indicated on the front sleeves, most of the songs were recorded by American groups, between 1965 and 1967. The series tends to follow the packaging format established by the ''Back from the Grave'' series in that each volume includes detailed liner notes that include basic information about each song and group, such as origin and ...

A History Of Garage And Frat Bands In Memphis 1960-1975, Volume 1
A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''a'' (pronounced ), plural ''aes''. It is similar in shape to the Ancient Greek letter alpha, from which it derives. The uppercase version consists of the two slanting sides of a triangle, crossed in the middle by a horizontal bar. The lowercase version can be written in two forms: the double-storey a and single-storey ɑ. The latter is commonly used in handwriting and fonts based on it, especially fonts intended to be read by children, and is also found in italic type. In English grammar, " a", and its variant " an", are indefinite articles. History The earliest certain ancestor of "A" is aleph (also written 'aleph), the first letter of the Phoenician alphabet, which consisted entirely of consonants (for that reason, it is also called an abjad to distinguis ...

right The ''Highs in the Mid-Sixties'' series is a group of 23 compilation albums of garage rock and psychedelic rock recordings that were issued by AIP Records in the mid-1980s.Richie Unterberger, Highs in the Mid-Sixtiesat Allmusic This series is a companion to the ''Pebbles'' series of similar music; the title is technically preceded by "Pebbles Presents:". The title sounds like it might have come from a weather report, although "Highs" intends to mean "the best" (and is also an apparent drug reference), while the recordings on these albums were originally released in the mid-1960s. Nature of the music The individual albums in the ''Pebbles'' series include records from throughout the US, along with a few from Canada and other countries. Additionally, the '' Pebbles, Volume 6'' LP features British bands, while the recordings on ''The Continent Lashes Back'' sub-series within the Pebbles series are taken from continental Europe. By contrast, the recordings on the ''Highs ...
