Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. Association Culturelle et Sportive du Ksar ( ar, الجمعية الثقافية و الرياضية للكصر) known as ACS Ksar is a Mauritanian football club based in Nouakchott the capital of the Mauritania. The club plays in the Ligue 1 Mauritania. History The club was founded in 1978 in the Ksar neighborhood of Nouakchott. It was known in the 1990s under the name of ASC Sonader Ksar (Association Sportive et Culturelle Sonader Ksar) when it was sponsored by SONADER (Sociètè Nationale pour le Développement Rural). Ksar won their first title in 1983, their second in 1983. The club won two consecutive titles in 1993, Ksar first appeared at the continental level in 1992. FC Nouadhibou is a Mauritanian professional football club based in the commercial centre of Nouadhibou, that competes in the Ligue 1 Mauritania, the top flight of Mauritanian football. History The club was founded in 1999 by a group young people led by Ahmed Yahya Ould Abderrahmane who became the club's first president. He is the current president of the FMF (Federation mauritanienne de Football). Before the creation of the club, there was another club that existed in the late 20th century under the name Imraguens de Nouadhibou. It is unrelated to ASC Imraguens which is based in Atar in another region, an existing club. The club participated for a few times at the WAFU Club Championship especially in 1987. Nouadhibou (; ar, نواذيبو, Nwādībū, Berber: Nwadibu, formerly in French: ) is the second largest city in Mauritania and serves as a major commercial centre. The city itself has about 118,000 inhabitants expanding to over 140,000 in the larger metropolitan area. Football Club Tevragh-Zeïna ( ar, نادي تفرغ زينة لكرة القدم) is a Mauritania, Mauritanian football (soccer), football club based in the Tevragh-Zeina district of Nouakchott. The club was founded in 2005. History In 2009, ASC Tevragh-Zeïna reached the final of the Coupe du Président de la République but lost to ASAC Concorde 5–4 on penalties after the game ended 0–0. In 2010, they won the competition, beating FC Feu Mini 3–0 in the final. By winning the Cup, they qualified for the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup.
