Be-Bop High School
is a manga series by Kazuhiro Kiuchi that was published in sequential parts in Kodansha's ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Young Magazine'' from 1983 to 2003. It has been adapted into seven live-action films, a video game, and an OVA anime series. Story The story revolves around the lives of two rough-and-tumble high school friends, Hiroshi Kato (加藤 浩志 ''Katō Hiroshi'', ヒロシ ''Hiroshi'') and Toru Nakama (中間 徹 ''Nakama Tōru'', トオル ''Tooru''), who frequently cause trouble and start fights. In keeping with the spirit of the manga, Toru and Hiroshi style their hair in punch perms and also adopt exaggerated swaggering gaits. The manga also features an assortment of outlandish characters who also sport unusual fashions and hairdos. ''Ang Panday'' () is a 1980 Filipino action-fantasy film produced and directed by Fernando Poe Jr., who also stars as the titular character. It is based on the fictional comics character of the same name, created by Carlo J. Caparas and illustrated by Steve Gan. The Panday (Filipino for smith) is a fictional Philippine comics character created by writer Carlo J. Caparas and artist Steve Gan. His stories were first serialized in the comic series ''Ang Panday'' ("The Smith") in ''Pilipino Komiks'' during the late 1970s. The character, whose real name is Flavio, became a Philippine pop culture icon since it was adapted to film ('' Ang Panday)'' in 1980 with Fernando Poe Jr. portraying Flavio and Max Alvarado as his archenemy Lizardo.
