List Of Endangered Flora Of The Warren Region
This is a list of endangered flora of the Warren bioregion, Warren region, a biogeography, biogeographic region or bioregion in southern Western Australia. It includes all taxa that occur in the region, and that have been classified as "R: Declared Rare Flora - Extant Taxa" or "X: Declared Rare Flora - Presumed Extinct Taxa" under the Department of Environment and Conservation (Western Australia), Department of Environment and Conservation's Declared Rare and Priority Flora List, and are hence gazetted as endangered extant flora under the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950. There are 28 endangered taxa. ''Leucopogon cryptanthus'' is presumed extinct. The other 27 are believed extant: * Asplenium obtusatum subsp. northlandicum, ''Asplenium obtusatum'' subsp. ''Banksia'' is a genus of around 170 species in the plant family Proteaceae. These Australian wildflowers and popular Ornamental plant, garden plants are easily recognised by their characteristic flower spikes, and fruiting "cones" and heads. ''Banksias'' range in size from prostrate woody shrubs to trees up to 30 metres (100 ft) tall. They are found in a wide variety of landscapes: sclerophyll forest, (occasionally) rainforest, shrubland, and some more arid landscapes, though not in Australia's deserts. Heavy producers of nectar (plant), nectar, ''banksias'' are a vital part of the food chain in the Australian bush.
