Walter J. Light (1927–1979) was an American timpanist, percussionist, and drummaker. At the age of 16, he was appointed to a percussion position in the Denver Symphony Orchestra, joining his father, Walter E. Light, who was the timpanist. He began a 27-year stint as principal timpanist after his father's death in 1952. King Conga was a Fremont, California based percussion manufacturing company founded by Cirilo "Mitch" Basas in the late 1960s. They were one of the first companies to produce fiberglass congas and although the company was only around for a few years, these drums are still considered some of the best sounding conga drums ever produced. Gregg Keplinger
Gregg Keplinger is an American drummer, drum maker, and drum tech from Seattle, Washington. As a drummer Keplinger began playing the drums at the age of 14, and has played in a large variety of bands ranging across many different styles, from Jazz to New Wave to R&B. Drum making Keplinger began making drums in the late 80's during a break in his own musical activity. During the 90's he teamed with Ayotte Drums to produce his snares, though he now produces them by himself again. Gregg handcrafts snare drums, cymbals, and percussion out of a variety of metals, mainly stainless steel. His drums have been used by the likes of Elvin Jones, Matt Cameron, Dave Grohl, Jeremy Taggart, and Zach Hill. Hayman Drum
Hayman drums was an English musical instruments manufacturer established in 1968. The idea was to come up with a drum kit series to compete with the success of the large American companies of the time. The shells were thin walled with rings, and painted white with what they called "Vibrasonic" interiors. The lugs were essentially a copy of the Camco designs. Hayman was out of business by 1975. Harmony Company
The Harmony Company is a former guitar manufacturing company that is currently a brand owned by Singapore-based BandLab Technologies. Harmony was, in its heyday, the largest musical instrument manufacturer in the United States. It made many types of string instruments, including ukuleles, acoustic and electric guitars and violins. The company ceased in 1975, with the "Harmony" brand being relaunched by BandLab in 2018 to produce electric guitars and amplifiers. History Harmony was founded in 1892 by Wilhelm Schultz.
