Tasman Rugby Union
The Tasman Rugby Union is the governing body for rugby union in Tasman Bay / Te Tai-o-Aorere, a bay at the north end of the South Island in New Zealand. Headquartered in Nelson, TRU is New Zealand's newest provincial union, founded in 2006 with the amalgamation of the existing Marlborough and Nelson Bays sub unions. The union's premier team is the Tasman Mako which compete in New Zealand's provincial rugby competition, the Bunnings NPC. Club rugby There are 22 clubs in the Tasman Union. Thames Valley Rugby Football Union
The Thames Valley Rugby Football Union (TVRFU) is the governing body of rugby union in the region of Thames Valley, New Zealand, Thames Valley in the North Island of New Zealand. Their senior representative team compete in the Heartland Championship. Thames Valley Rugby Football Union was founded in 1921 when it broke away from the now defunct South Auckland Rugby Union (1909), South Auckland Rugby Union. The Thames Rugby Union, a sub-union that had remained affiliated with the Auckland Rugby Football Union, eventually joined the Thames Valley Union in 1951. King Country Rugby Football Union
The King Country Rugby Football Union is a constituent union in the New Zealand Rugby Union. It is located in the central North Island of New Zealand in an area known as the King Country. It was formed in 1922 when the South Auckland Rugby Union was split into three (the other two Unions formed were Waikato and Thames Valley). The King Country team play from Owen Delany Park, Taupo, Rugby Park, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui Domain, Taumarunui. King Country, like many other heartland unions, have struggled since the start of professional era. In 1996, King Country were in the first division of the NPC and in just 6 years were in the third division. The Waikato Rugby Union (WRU) is the official governing body of rugby union in the Waikato area in the North Island of New Zealand. Headquartered in Hamilton, WRU was founded in 1921. Its senior representative team, nicknamed the ''Mooloos'', competes in the Mitre 10 Cup (formerly known as the ITM Cup and Air New Zealand Cup), and won the inaugural Air New Zealand Cup in 2006. Marlborough Rugby Union
Marlborough Rugby Union was a New Zealand rugby union team that played from 1888 until 2005. Marlborough was founded in 1888 and played at Lansdowne Park in Blenheim. Championships Marlborough won three New Zealand Championships during the old NPC, consecutive South Island Division with two titles in 1978 and 1979, and Division 3 in 1997. Ranfurly Shield Marlborough held the Ranfurly Shield briefly in the early 1970s which they won against Canterbury in 1973. They managed six defences before losing to South Canterbury, in the second challenge of 1974. Their last challenge came in the first challenge of the 2005 season, however Marlborough could not match Canterbury's strength this time and lost heavily, 3–67. The Mid Canterbury Rugby Football Union (MCRFU) is a rugby province in the South Island of New Zealand.
