2023 WNBA Season
The 2023 WNBA season is the 27th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Las Vegas Aces are the defending champions. The regular season was expanded to 40 games per team, becoming the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. The 2022 season saw the schedule increase to 36 games and was the previous high for the regular season. This season will also be the second straight year that the playoffs will be an all-series format after returning to it in 2022. The first round will use a 2–1 format, with the higher seed hosting the first two games (differing from the 1–1–1 format previously used in 2015). The semifinals and the WNBA Finals will remain a best-of-five series. Arguably the most significant change to the league this season is the enforcement of the so-called "prioritization clause" in the collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players' union. The channel broadcasts local professional and high school sports coverage throughout the state of Indiana, with a focus on professional sports teams based in Indianapolis, namely the NBA's Indiana Pacers. The Las Vegas Aces are an American professional basketball team based in the Las Vegas Valley, Las Vegas metropolitan area. The Aces compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Western Conference (WNBA), Western Conference. Fran Harris
Fran Harris (born March 12, 1965 in Dallas, Texas) is an American television personality, sportscaster, and former professional and college basketball player who has won championships in high school, in college, and in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). After not playing competitively for nearly 8 years, she beat out more than 200 athletes to earn a spot in the inaugural season of the WNBA for the Houston Comets. Harris played basketball at The University of Texas, where she captained the team that won the 1986 national championship and led the team to the first ever NCAA undefeated season going 34–0. Raegan Pebley
Jennifer Raegan Pebley ( née Scott; born August 12, 1975) is an American basketball coach and former player. Pebley has been the head women's coach at three NCAA Division I institutions, most recently TCU. Pebley played two seasons in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as Raegan Scott. A 6'4" forward, Pebley played college basketball at Colorado. Early life and college playing career Born and raised in Orem, Utah, Pebley (born Jennifer Raegan Scott) graduated from Mountain View High School in Utah in 1993. Pebley then attended the University of Colorado Boulder and played at forward for the Colorado Buffaloes from 1993 to 1997. Pebley averaged 8.4 points and 5.6 rebounds and shot .445 from the field in 124 games. Ron Thulin is a sportscaster who currently handles play-by-play for the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, Panther City Lacrosse of the NLl and college basketball. He was formerly with Turner Sports. Biography Thulin has called play-by-play for college football coverage on TBS, FOX, Stadium and American sports network. He has been part of 5 Olympic broadcasts, including alpine events for Turner Sports, and International Broadcasts in Vancouver.
